Kijana ... I introduced myself at the GLORCS race at HardcoreRC ... mentioned I knew Reggie from the LST forums ... I'm in the middle of switching from a Mugen MBX5T to Eight-T 2.0 ... it may not be done before the snow flies but hook up with me the start of next season at either DORC or Hardcore .... I would be happy to let you try out Neal's JPX.21 ... quite sure, having seen you wheel ... you will drive it better than I do LOL
Jeff Here it is in the 5T http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tf7gAKynw60 Can't wait to try it in the much lighter 2.0  |

Wise man! That's the problem I have with all these "which is better" type deals. It always comes down to which one has the most power. Truth is we can hardly use the power that most of these engines make in the first place. If I had the choice of owning the most powerful engine on the planet or a more moderate, smooth engine, it would be the smooth one for me every time.
I think where the issues come from is the misconceptions people have about their favorite engine brands.... In one corner we have OS fans here claiming the V-Spec and Speeds are the fastest, nastiest wildest offroad engines on the market...And in the other corner we have OS fans who say they like OS due to the smooth tractable powerbands and easy tuning characteristics.......Same goes for the Nova's ... Some claim that no engine on the planet can match the sheer craziness of the FMS,Toro,21-7 etc, and in the other corner we have Nova fans who praise the engines because of their smooth tractable powerbands......... You can't have it both ways..If an engine is smooth and tractable it is not possible for it to also be some crazy power monster engine....I mean the fanboys have taken this whole debate way to far and made claims about their favorite engines that completely contradict what each other is saying............... I will never argue that a Speed is not a wonderful track engine, its buttery smooth and very tractable...Same goes for the Nova's I have tested this year... They are very smooth, tractable and very easy to drive fast.......But please don't start trying to say a OS Speed or a FMS is going to match the power and speed of a engine like a modified JPX.. The JPX is not smooth, its a handful at the best of the times...But for those looking for something really explosive and crazy fast there is no better option............ No engine can be everything... if an engine makes crazy insane power it will not be buttery smooth like a Speed ...And if an engine is buttery smooth and tractable then its not crazy powerful...its as simple as that........... Personally I think much of the issue with these debates is that there are very few people who have actual experience successfully running multiple brands of engines... Many guys have good luck with one single brand and just make assumptions about the rest... rather then relying on real world hands on experience they make all their statements based purely on assumptions...Too much tunnel vision for my taste ! |
sorry guys you did it to yourself.. with all the complaints thread will now be closed...
