Your post makes no sense to me, Im not flamming you. You say stock V.S stock there is no comparison (or about the same) in the underlined part but then you say to compare a moded B5 or Jammin to a stock Speed. Well, I have a moded JPX and a Moded Speed and there is still no comparison. I like the OS engines, as i say I run them quite often...I just don't think they are as godly as they are made out to be...sorry man..they are a great engine, but so are many others....... Stock vs stock 2013 on B5 and 2060 on Soeed neither one pulls on each other, B5 has more snap off bottom and B5 gets better mileage...on the dyno they put out nearly identical numbers....thats the facts from true side by side testing...The Speed does have less off the line punch and a smoother feel, but adding a weighted flywheel to the B5 smooths it out just the same.... |
Hey, passs the juju bees , this sh!t's gettin good

now that's the kinda info I want to hear! Keep it comin!! I would love to hear of more stock vs stock comparisons...

In my opinion OS is a good engine brand but it's not superior to Nova or RB etc. Main advantage of OS is it's carb and the overall tuning meaning it can be pretty much off and still run OK. Most of the other engines out there have narrower window and there for can be considered "harder" to tune. If you say you can "out tune" most then who cares and what does it mean in general ? Absolutely zero as you can't run around the world and tune the engines can you ? I can tune my Alphas for +10min but still it does not mean that everyone can do that. So the package needs to be so easy to use that majority of the users can feel them selfs as a good tuner be it the case or not. This is the advantage of OS + the (stock) Speed can make 10min where say 90% of the other stock engines can't. In many cases you can have 10min or close with +4 and with B5. Only issue with B5 is that it won't last more than few gallons on that +10min tune (kind of a vspec syndrome) and +4 can't reach the tank times as reliably as OS. Now keep in mind this is with normal racers and not any "PRO's". Now what this leads to us: it's more how you use the gear than what it says on the cooling head or block. And what is funny is that most of the guys who argue these things can't either drive so well that they could take the advantage of something that can be seen only on dynos nor tune their superios engine for +10min tank times even they claim to do so in Internet  So have fun racing and leave these debates to the internet experts :D |

100% False. |
I like OS.:D
|
i like NOVAROSSI :D:lol:
|
+2 for OS here. Novas are nice and a very solid engine but I have observed the carbs be a little finicky when tuning. If you want an engine to last forever then Nova is the way to go, they will outlast OS as far as # of gallons, but OS engines are still my fav and these new XZ os engines are off the hook. :D

its funny how the claims of the B5 gets better mileage than other engines out there.. but when seen it running on a pro level.. the drivers usually pit a minute b4 the competition (when pitting at 8.5min gives an advantage of pitting at 7.5min)...
not a flame.. but just a runtime comparison from what i have seen from drivers on the same level... i mean if teh B5 can give that much more runtime you would think a pro level driver would use it to his advantage... but you usually see him come in before said Speed engines... that doesn't make sense to me.... but of course thats just me.. Just an OBSERVATION guys... so dont jump on me to hard but as of lately .. I like Novarossi (FMS and Toro :D)... prior to that OS... and still have one as old faithful in my box.... |
i got some RED VINES if anybody wants some!....:ha:....just throw a dart at a wall full of engine names! lol and GO with the 1 you hit

Wow that was the first time I've heard the B5 is a fuel economy motor, as good if not better fuel milage than the speed. I have NEVER seen a B5 down here get Better milage than a speed, hell a vspec (consistently).
Monday I'll have my OS Speed XZ backordered in the USA, more bottom, milage...........:D Andy |
Mximo you are a funny guy. It's funny how you promote the b5 and make claims as it is just as fast as a stock or modded v-spec. I sure if you sold O.S. nova and RB engines you opinion in this thread would be very different. Stop trying to push engines and state the truth.
If you believe what you say is true. Please post some dyno specs they will tell the tail. Please reframe from the "it almost put out the same power". With these engines a small amount in hp,torq, and rpm's make a big diference. The b5 must produce the same if not more power. |

I have the Ninja JX engines.... will be running two of them tomorrow for that matter....Nice engines for sure, but they don't have any edge over the B5 IMO... they run side by side, B5 has more bottom end punch and gets better mileage........ What can i say guys, we are getting phenomenal mileage with the B5's, tho of course ours aren't stock  I don't have any stock Ninja's or B5's to dyno...I do however have access to a stock Speed and the new V-Spec....will be dyno testing the new V-Spec this week....... I don't care how much you guys persecute me, I feel all the top .21's are very comparable to each other.....No one engine seems to pull the other when they run side by side...most people pit at the same times... I see just as many poorly tuned OS engines at the track as any other brand.....I see no advantage whatsoever to owning a OS over any other of the top brands... |
This thread is better then watching tv, all they ever do is play the same movies every weekend. Atleast when you have 40 channel cable lmao.
Frigg this thread is GO funny. I mean so  |

not trying to start anything but i know my Alphas will blow by an OS vspec or Speed.... and IMO ninjas are faster and all than OS mills, i like OS but others are better (and cheaper) than them. also Alphas are getting better runtime consistently than OS.... but im thinking about switching to OS, so dont take this as bashing please.

If you want I can arrange for you to meet up with one of my boys over at Hardcore.. I will have my guy bring a modified JPX,B5 or maybe both. You can take the engines for a test drive, run them back to back with the FMS, swap controllers etc. ...Then you guys can compare runtimes, top speed, bottom end etc etc.... Both the JPX and B5 make crazy bottom end and I am curious to see how the FMS stacks up down low.....The only way you will know where I am coming from is if you actually drive an engine that I consider has a great bottom end... My comments on trying to tune the FMS to have more bottom end should not offended you so badly...But if they did I apologize and really feel you need to try the mod B5 and JPX to understand where I am coming from... If your interested PM me and we can try to make some arrangements....no need to fight on a forum when we can put the said engines head to head... |

OS are fantastic, but so are plenty of other engines... thats my story and I am sticking to it... |
