AMS 5.0 Recap

2 Attachment(s)
Well the Alabama Manufacturers Shootout 5.0 is finally over, and with almost 600 entries it was definitely a long weekend. My Mugen cars were absolutely amazing all weekend long, they were super fast and competitive given the amount of talent and competition in attendance. The Pro Buggy qualifying was not so good, and I had to start 2nd in the b-main. After a terrible start, starting almost half a lap down from the leaders, I put my head down and started to chase them down. By the end of the race I was able to catch 2nd place, but an extra pitstop needed by me would put me down again. I was able to make it within 2 seconds of 2nd place, but time would run short and I just wasn't able to make it happen. My buggy was amazing in the main, I ran the second fastest lap out of anyone of the entire weekend during the main running the CRE Keep-Off 4. In Pro Truggy, I had decent qualifying and put myself starting 11th overall. After an amazing start in the 45 minute pro a-main, I was able to work my way up all the way to second place battling with ryan lutz and joe bornhorst. But a late race pit communication would put me down a little bit. At the end of the race I was able to come up with a 4th place finish against some amazing competition! My MBX6-T was awesome all weekend long paired with the CRE Team P5, it was stuck to the track and super fast. Thanks for everything you guys do for us! We had an awesome weekend with some good and some bad results! We are already looking forward to AMS again next year!

Clocked RB SLS3....12 minute Buggy Engine !!!

I would like to introduce my Clocked RB BXR SLS 3.....This is a ultra long stroke small bore 3 port with a MES exhaust.....The engine runs amazingly well, is super smooth with insane low end grunt..it clears jumps effortlessly, even on slick conditions..... And best of all we are seeing 12 minutes runtimes where were previously seeing 9 minutes with a BTT WC making this CLocked RB SLS 3 one of the best engines on fuel that we have ever seen......

+ YouTube Video

Ran a little bit more the CRE RALLY X YESTERDAY. All I can say is Wow! This thing is awesome. So much power and runtime is on for 10 min easy. To get runtime at my track is very hard. The track is very dusty and loose. This motor is so nice in a buggy, I got so much power that I can over shoot all jumps with just bliping the throttle. Straight away speed is insane. This motor is up on my list for all time powerful engines. You get a motor that can run awesome in buggy and no problem in a truck and runtime.

My buddy was testing the BXR 3 port CRE in this video. Kyosho tki3 with nova 9886 and 41021 header. And he is in love with his nova clocked BTT which is a very strong and powerful engine. After running this he was so happy. We tested 12 minutes. Yes 12 minutes. Like I said the track is loose and dusty to get 10 is luck but 12 with not sacrificing power is unreal. Basically the RB SLS3 is smooth on very bottom but ramps hard and is basically a bullet. The top end is very similar if not a touch better. Very impressive.

Again neal and John these are winners good job.

Hey Neal,

We all know how much I love my P5xlt. Can you tell me what the difference is between the P5xlt and the new P5 Clio please? Is it worth it to switch over? Is there an advantage to running one over the other? Do they run, tune and hold a tune the same? Thanks for your time Neal.

Thanks,

Darren.

The Clio is definitely a nicer engine...however you do pay a premium for it....Performance wise not so much difference , but better durability with the Team piston....
