Well another 4 day event done and dusted, had a new clocked picco to play with so that what i did, ran that sucker in the xray xb8 buggy with a werks 2058 for the practice and 5 x 10 minute qualifiers, was getting a complete 10 minute qualifier and roll out lap and extra lap in the start but as the groove and traction came up the run times went down, so for the last 2 qualifiers i did a splash and dash pit stop, the engine ran perfect and i must say had the best idle of any engine i have ever owned ( that is a few ).
Final test for the engine came when Neal asked me if i thought it would push a truggy around the track OK, my answer well lets pull the bonito out of the truggy and drop in the clocked picco for the B main final 30 minutes, it ran fantastic with plenty of power and didnt push the run times with 7.30 minute pit stops and finished 2nd bumping into the A main. A main the engine again ran perfect, plenty of power and this time round we went with the 9 minute pit stops and the engine never missed a beat, held 5th position for 30 minutes of the race before battery and receiver connection started playing up turning off the digital switch grrrr on slap landings, this cost me 4 laps with it happening 4 times but the picco just idled away as the marshel returned the car to the pits for my pitman to check the connection and turn the car on again, not once did the engine die, a try champion engine the clocked picco and was running at 210f during the race. Nice home run neal & john at clockworks, picco perfection. |

Just a reminder
Neal at clockworks is the nicest engine guy I have known. I still don't know how DHL can get engines to me in 2 days. amazing service friendly, honest and makes engines scream. I really need to video some of my races. at Ultimate in Alvin TX I was jumping so far into the turn from a jump in the middle of the back straitaway It must have been a 45 ft jump across and close to 10 feet in the air.

Hi guys,
Waiting on my Mugen MBX7 to arrive that I ordered from you guys, can't wait!! I have a CLOCKED - RB BLAST V20 Limited Edition Engine coming too!! (plus a bunch of other shiny stuff :)) I ordered the WERKS 2013 pipe, but I see a lot of talk here about the 2058. Did I order the right pipe? Havn't raced in 20 years, but expect (hope) to be competitive right away, don't even know exactly where I will be racing (Grande Prairie for sure, Edmonton if they get the track back up, hoping to visit your track if all works out). Thanks for any input. Boyd |

And its not an odd different, its a "my car is coming so you better get out of the way" different. Its really nice to be able to pick your vehicle out from the other dozen of screaming beasts. |
Awesome! Thanks Jerm.......
I'm so looking forward into getting back into racing........looking at possibly buying an RV so I can go on weekend racing trips.....need a toy hauler tho, cuz I'd wanna bring my Harley when I go away :) Boyd |

Jordan and I got a pair of tanks threw the Virtus to night.
Wow it's nice Neal thanks for getting it set up. Think you could give George a good work out with it.save a lot on tires. |

Always, always shoot Neal an email, pm or call for pipe/engine advice, lol. He's very accessible. You bought a raunchy engine/pipe combo for a buggy. Gear it up! That's a stout combo for a truggy. You're gonna be using 1/4 throttle around most tracks, but it's useable. 2058 would be better or maybe RB 2097. This is a great engine. I run V12 in truggy and it's really good but not as stout as V20. You got a screamer, ask Neal how to set it up for buggy. I'm thinking Buku clutch right away.
When you say gear it up, what a would you recommend? This 1/8th stuff is new to me and I havn't raced 1/10th electric in roughly 20 years. Looking very forward to tackling the learning curve. Boyd *edit: Oh, and btw, I hear lots about Buku parts, is that an aftermarket manufacturer? And where in Canada is a good place to browse/order their parts? Thanks! |
Neal, Im looking at the specs and pictures of both the Blast V20 and the Rally 14. Is it basically the same engine but in a different case and head labeling? I watched your videos on both and it sure does look like a performer. Also noticed you ran both with the 2097 pipe but the V20 comes with a 2045 and the Rally 14 with a 2092. Did you have a chance to test these out on each? Would hate to cough up the extra scripts to get a 2097 if the included pipe sets work well.
cheers |

Still breaking in my clocked RB Ralley X. ALSO giving my dog a workout. Losi 3.0 buggy/ stock losi steel flywheel clutch. Bones brew fuel. The pipe is the rb 2097 and nova 41021 header. Runs so good ramps up quick. Can't wait to hit the track. Good job neal and John. This is a winner! |
Port Jervis NY Manufacturers Challange
Big shout out to Neal at Clockworks, our Flash Rally .21 picked up where it left off last season with a TQ and win:D
Screaming 47,000 RPM,s + on the pipe should be my ring tone:lol::nod: Clock your engines, you won't be sorry:) Thanks again Neal very happy to be on the team for a second season:cool: http://i691.photobucket.com/albums/v...psbb2c0173.jpg . |
So yes the Rally X and the Blast V20 are the same engine other then the size of the carb insert they come with, other then they are 100% identical........ The 2097 pipe runs very well, seems to have good mileage an power....The 2045 has slightly more low end, but not nearly as much mid or top..My modified makes good low end power already so I feel the 2097 matches it better, but the 2045es do quite good as well.....
Sorry for the delay in answering , I typed out a reply the other day and must have not posted it.....I just caught this now, as I have been quite swamped in the shop.... I had gotten sick for a few weeks and feel quite behind, so its just now that i am finally caught up and able to take a breath.....So yeah sorry I was not intending ignore you ! Yesterday was the first day we had the modified Rally X on our track and it was absolutely amazing...Probably one of the most spectacular engines in a buggy I have ever seen...The engine is awesome and has the sweetest and most unique acoustic signature of any of the Clockwork Modified Engines to date, and we have had some sick sounding engines , and I have never heard anything quite like this one before..... Best part of the deal with this engine is I have it running with relatively low timing profiles, which makes it extremely stable and forgiving, it will sit there and idle all day if it had enough fuel in the tank .. |
