here is an extreme example of how much dirt can pack into t he front bearing of a engine...

http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...s/IMG_0105.jpg

and here is the reside of the dirt that passed thru and got trapped behind the bearing...... In most of these extreme case the engines of course are no longer running correctly, as they are steadily ingesting fine dirt which causes all sorts of running/tuning issues.... However there are also engines out there that are just as contaminated but running perfectly fine, which really sucks........ Ever wonder how a brand new engine can be worn out in only 2 gallons ? ;)

is there any differences between the bonito and the new keep off

The Keep off is a bonito with the new style rear bearing and case.

Lately we have been seeing more and more guys running the OS P4 glowplugs........It just seems for the most part it is a more stable glowplug, the hotter nature of it gives it a wider tuning window for many people....I believe there is a few different reasons for this......First reason being is that a hotter plug generally is more stable by nature, can run richer and still hold a strong idle... Second reason being that the hotter plug is going to be more forgiving if the fuel happens to have any sort of moisture contamination.... ;) which I believe happens more often then is realized..

The more moisture a fuel absorbs the less reactive it will become and the more heat it will require for ignition....Therefore a engine running a cold glowplug may start showing symptoms of moisture sooner then a engine running a ultra hot glowplug.....The moisture can also be in the atmosphere, ie a very humid day..... But in the end the hotter glowplug is not going to be affected by moisture nearly as much as a cold glowplug will......SO if your ever having strange unexplained flameouts, especially when letting off the throttle after a burst( coming off a big jump comes to mind ) you may want to try running a hotter plug....

We currently run Nova #6 plugs and even Werks #6 plugs.....however I have had customers that were unable to run anything but the OS P4 plugs..different fuels definitely have different characteristics and sometimes the hotter plug can be the difference between finishing a race or flaming out.....

Should you run the coldest plug you can? And why exactly? On my .12 engines, I run a #9 I think. I know in the os chart it's rated cold and it runs great, but I've had that engine for a VERY long time and have the tuning of it down pat....

Is it to do with pre-detination on higher compresion engines?

No.... the colder plugs will be less forgiving..........

I was being asked between the Nova 6 and the OS P4.......I basically said both work great, but the OS plug being hotter is more tolerant of potential issues with moisture .....And that it seems some people definitely have much better luck with the OS P4 then the others....However up here at my track we run the Nova 6 and it works quite well...........

congrats to our Team Driver Shay Brand....Who has been on a tear lately with he CRE engine... We now have him running the 2013 Team edition P5....

I was able to TQ and Win this past weekend at Loganville RC Speedway at their Trophy Race. It was a good race, and had lots of fun running our new P5. I ran the 2013 P5 with the Werks 2058 pipe/header combo as well as with the M2C 4-shoe Medium clutch setup, running 2-.9 and 2-.95 springs(red and yellow). The motor ran great, had alot of pep and good top end like all of the other CRE engines. Thanks again for the engine Neal, it ran flawless. Can't wait to get more testing done with the new motor.

Thanks,
Shay
