The Argus is stout tho...no question there.......but stock its not going to run with the fully modified B5, that is just silliness ! However on a track anything can happen, your only as fast as your tires..All the power in the world wont help if you don't have traction or the room to stretch their legs..... On a small tight loose track anything will hang with anything..... But open things up a little, add some traction and thats a whole different story ! not hatin, just sayin !

Well a Alpha orange head is really close to the Argus...nearly identical...since you own a Alpha Orange head and a Clocked B5...how do they compare ?

Honestly for all out power on a straight they really dont even come close. The alpha is a great engine as is the Argus, very smooth and capable to get your buggy around any track. The CRE B5 is a ballistic missile with better run times and a much better carb. On a 200 foot straight with all things being equal the CRE B5 will win by 30 feet

How are you guys shimming the b5 with m2c clutch? I have to put 3 shimms just to clear the carburator throat. I Was using a older collet but it is making me nervous, so i went ahead and put the one that came with the engine. The only thing about the 3 shimms is i can hear them rubbing each other when i turn the crank. At 800 rpm's a second that may not turn out so well.

I used the thicker of the 2 shims that came with the clutch. i think its 2MM. clearance is fine and no noises or grinding.

Shims don't rub each other unless the crank wasn't pulled out all the way and the collet wasn't snugged against the shims before tightening. 3 shims sounds about right though. Sometimes i use the thick losi spacer that comes with their flywheel.
Oh, i hate mugen bells! |
800 rpm's a second

We've already done this test  Stock Argus isn't even going to catch the Clocked B5's smoke trail:lol: |

Could you imagine riding in a 1/1 scale buggy pulling 45k rpm! Carb boot balloons, fuel tank washing like white rappids on niagra falls! The noise, the vibrations? Ceramic bearings anyone?:sneaky: |
