So are you saying the break in method you used on my B5 in Edmonton last year was not correct? (one and a half tanks bliping the throttle in the feild and then race tuning on the track).
Well when I am the one setting the needles we can break a few rules !!! |

I watched you run Bruce, you're B6 was singing. It definitely was the strongest buggy engine there. My Clocked B5 was flawless as usual. Damn thing sounds like the only 250cc dirt bike running in the 125cc class, lol. I didn't do too bad for 1st full raceday since oct. Getting only 20 hrs sleep for 5 days didn't work in my favor. But i had a great time. Thanks John & Neal for the great engines. Now the OS 25 is up next.
Thanks Rob , I watched your main and your right about your truggy , that baby was skipping and the driver was doing ok also for the little sleep you had . if the weather holds out , maybe will see you this saturday at HHQ . |

Race Results
Race results from CRE Team Driver Tom Auayfay
Another first outing: Our first night race here at The Nitro Pit was last night. It was cool to see Ryan Maifield, Billy Fischer, Tanner Denny and Chris Wheeler all factory drivers here. The track has not changed since The Nitro Challenge so we are able to compare lap times. Since I run the races here at The Pit, it is rare for me to race. Fortunately, I was able to last night because Brian was able to step in and announce my race. I race in the Open class. Once I knew I was able to race, I decided to drop in the new Clocked Werks B6 in my Serpent. I got to the track and started the break in process with 1 tank on the box. The next tank putting around the track and one more tank on the box as I needed to get the race program going. Yep, that was my break in period prior to my qualifier. I love these engines, it started right up on the bump box, I turned up the idle and an hour in on both top and bottom and she purred like a kitten. 1st qualifier- nothing special here as I was right up to speed just putting around with no more than 50% at any time. If you raced at the Challenge, there really isn't anywhere you need to go full throttle as it is all about bottom end to hit those jumps. Nonetheless, the CRE B6 didn't have any problems on it's 4th tank. I bobbled the first two laps, but still managed to 2nd in the Qauli. 2nd quali- I knew I had the speed to take TQ so I was amped to run. Unfortunately, I flamed out twice in the first lap. I brought it in and turned up the idle screw and went back out and had no issues and turning the fastest lap of the heat. 20 minute A Main- I would start out 2nd and kept it clean sitting right behind TQ Brandon Akiyama (KBRL champion) through the 7 pack. At the end of the 7 pack he made a mistake and I would take the lead from there on. I would eventually go on to win by 1 1/2 laps. It was a good outting for the CRE engine. I am now running a CRE B6 in buggy and CRE B5 in my truck. Now I just need to race some more.............. Thanks Neal and John for a great product!!!! Tom Auayfuay |
thats great to hear!
If i left it that close to factory settings mine would be cold and at about 50%power. My settings are a hair over quarter turn from factory. So not much movement at all. So easy to tune a run! |
First run with the CRE B6 this last weekend at the Oregon series race and I had a blast! Motor and driver qualified 2nd which would be a better than my average;) I was running around 200 and at about 8-9 min a tank as it is still breaking in(I could see this motor doing an easy 12 min with a proper tune and a medium driver finger:D). I could feel that I was a getting a bit lean on the bottom as the 30 min race progressed .The lean bottom and rich top with the small idle gap almost was perfect but in the main I did flame one time at about the 15min mark while I was in second and I think it was because I was vertical against a board:rolleyes:. I told my pit guy to richen the bottom a tiny bit and the motor felt like it was back in the zone. Motor was very fast even running 200 and also with the break in shim still installed;). Overall I had a great weekend with this new motor and look forward to running it again. Hey Neal any tips for me as I move forward (i.e. shims, when to take out or ?) I want to thank you for a fast motor that has that ummppfff to get me over those tough jump sections:)

Ummmmmm ! not if the Clocked B5 is tuned properly and hooking up it wont, not even close...... The Mod Argus does not bad against the mod B5 bottom and mid, but it doesn't match the B5 on the top end....
We've already done this test  Stock Argus isn't even going to catch the Clocked B5's smoke trail:lol: |
