WOW that is a huge gain! Even removing 1 shim makes a nice differance. So we can remove 1 shim in a stock B5 without any trouble?

Is this (removing the thin shim - if one exists) safe with the B6 as well?

Is there a recommended torque setting for the head bolts? Loctite? No, Just snug them evenly and NEVER use Loctite on head bolts, It makes for a Painful time trying to remove the head afterwords. |
Thanks for the heads up.

I would imagine using loctite on the head bolts, after a dozen or so heat cycles, being about the same as welding the head onto the case.. I've had trouble getting head bolts out with out loctite, so no you don't want it on there..
