Default Best NEW Engine out!

I am a OS Vpec fanboy, but they are no more.

I want to know in the opinions of none sponsored RACERS, what is the best NEW engines out there. Dont post no old engine no matter how good it may be. I know about Speeds, ninjas, 21-4s etc. I wanna see whats new, like alphas and others. I will say 300-450ish with pipe.

For TRUGGY.

Thanks

Now bring on the rain and die hard opinions. Im ready to read through the BS....

Would you consider the Werks B5 new? If not, I know some B6 owners will chime in.

I know you dont like HB, but Addy ran my D8T with my Werks B5 and was very impressed with the $300 motor/pipe combo. I know others on the forums are extremely satisfied with the B6 in a buggy.

Another nod for the werks b5 here. The thing just goes and has soo much low end it's almost stupid. Great for truggy. The reason the b6 buggy specific engine is here is because they thought less low end was warranted for buggy and the trade off in fuel economy was well worth it -- they just cheese grated off a little of the massive balls on the b5's bottom end.

If your an OS fan you can't go wrong with the OS .25xz. I have ran alot of different .21's in my truggy. The .25xz kills them all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

B5 with a 2013!! will move that truggy without any problem, and its only 200 bucks. Check out the thread, everyone who has one absolutely loves it. B6 is a newer motor but it was designed for a buggy.

The FMS or the Toro Team would be a good fit for truggy...

I ran B5s for almost a year. Pretty good motor, did have some problems with them at about the 6 gallon mark. Switched over to Alpha about a gallon ago and must say it is as good if not better than the B5. Time will tell. It has a stronger bottom end than the B5 and about the same if not more top. Break in is a little harder on the alpha. B5 breakin is simple and easy. Both good motors for the price your willing to spend. B5 runs best on the 2013. The alpha you have more of a pipe selection. Ive ran it with the 2013, 2035 and soon the 0801. They all work great and about the same run times. The best Ive got out of the alpha is 9 mins but it is still breaking in. The B5 is 10 mins plus right out of the box.

Werks B5 and B6 are really good. I ran the B5 in my buggy for a while, but has too much bottom end with th 2013, so I switched to the B6 with a 2013 and it is super smooth and very fast. I put the B5 in my Truggy with 2013 is nice and fast because of all the bottom end it has. Both get anywhere from 8.5 to 10 minutes, depending on driving style.

The support is also fantastic, and you can find out anything you want from Ron in the forums for both of these motors.

Gotta be the Werks B5 and B6. Two awesome Italian made engines for great prices.

I have been running the alphas and have been satisfied with them. Lots of power and for a good price. I am getting 10+ gallon out of them so far.

Ya I have to say I am happy with the B5/2013 in my 6T but I am thinking of trying that new TQ racing 501T. It's a revival with changes of the GRP tuned 21 and I loved my last GRP, well made and last forever. Apparently not the same bottom end as B5 but smooth, so I would exchange motors for track type.

TQ 501T is an AWESOME buggy motor... I own both the B5 and the 501T. They are both top notch engines. The B5 is a powerhouse and proved to be a tab bit much on the bottom for me in buggy. My lap times are faster with the 501T. But that doesnt mean its a better motor. It just suits my driving better. the B5/2013 in the truggy IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO. Can't go wrong with either motor.
