The A830 has great bottom end so it is not weak on the bottom, it just has a smoother powerband, where as the other Alphas have more of an abrupt power band.
Even in truggy the bottom end is great on the A830

I have said it before, and I will say it again. Alpha Enginesdo not make any slouch engines. From the club racer all the way up to the 28. I myself is a fan of the 23 for truggy. My dad, who is new to RC, ran a 3 port club racer engine in his truggy and had plenty of power to make any jump at the local track. As a driver, it is good to ask questions about certain engines and power bands, bottom end and top end. You always have to ask what is the best engine for my driving style.

Yep the Alphas are all fast for sure just different characteristics but none of them are slow or weak by any means even the F850 is very fast engine

Had great night of racing the a830 . Got TQ!! My first with my new buggy &the awsome a830. We ran 7 min. Qualifiers ..my last one motor loosen up now I can get a race tune on it .so I played it safe in the 20 main. I pitted at 9min.lead the holerace . last two mins I goofed up...sid won!!!dang it!!! Thanks lance for the Awsome motors!
