Default Break in

every Nova I've had wasn't ready to run in a race until about 16 tanks or 1/2 gallon of fuel..

It's not about the tune as much as how hard you run them. Nice smooth pulls down the street or in a parking lot seem to help them free up while not straining them too hard...After that I can take them to the first race and with a slightly rich race tune finish the day with a perfectly broken in engine...after the first race it's perfect....

i usually put about 6-10 tanks on my novas before i hit the track. i usually put 3-4 on it during practice, driving it easy, no hard accelerations or full throttle pulls. then i race it at 90% of a race tune the rest of the day. Did this with my P5XLT and it took almost 2 gallons to fully break in, internals look wonderful thanks to the Cold Fusion Fuel i've been running

but enough of that, Bonito is 100% raced tuned now, top end is amazing, hard to tell the bottom due to i was on asphalt but it seems good with a weak clutch. if i need to ill go all alum but i think this is going to be a good engine. Ill know more after this weekend
Yea Ninja's are a great engine alot of peope over here In Aus run them.
actually Novarossi seem to be getting rare to see at the track thesedays
But I'll Continue running my P5Xlt till its dead and gone then look at bonito or maybe another P5 I am verry confident with it and it tunes is so easily..

heres some Items that were sent to me this week by Some good people @ Novarosi..

This week I was able to finally run my BTT with the 9901 pipe on it and was shocked by just how smooth this motor really is. I've heard about it but now I've felt it. The power delivery is soooooo smooth.

Thank you Nova for a great nitro engine!

You are not the only one, that likes the smooth powerband of the Novas. Several Danish top-drivers has experiense with bbt and btts vs OS ZXB Speed engines and Hara OS. They all runs faster and the car are more controllable with the Novas compared the OS´s "turbo hesitation". The old Speed had better powerband but they are not durable.

Claus Nielsen just won the Dansih National. His bbt has been runnig the entire season (+6 races) with 45 min finals in all races. He only changed the rod mid-season for safety otherwise its bone stock

Feedback:

Ran the Bonito this weekend, at first i wasnt impressed, top end wasnt there, bottom end was sluggish, retuned it a little ran some more. I got the top end to get there but the bottom end still felt soft. I knew it was a new engine so i just kept running hoping it would break in a little. First round i ended up TQ and only guy to run 10 Laps. Second Rd i bobbled and took me off 10 lap pace but still won and did a 9 5:01 or something like that. Engine was coming together started to richen up a bit so i retuned it before the main. The engine is starting to come alive. With the retune it was throwing around my truggy like crazy, the top end was still climbing at the end at i was getting like 9 min a tank on a new engine. I am impressed with it. Its smooth and has plenty of power just like my BTT does in the buggy. Actually i lent my buggy to a buddy that has helped me a lot thru the years of racing for Gas Champs next week. He has been anti Nova for about a year now and has only ran Ninjas, well with him running my BTT and seeing my bonito he said he is thinking about going back HA HA HA.

here is another one for you Nova fans....here is a video of a Nova FMS that I modified....this engine was sent to me with instructions to increase the bottom end...the fellow loves his FMS but really wished it had stronger bottom end....So in order to get some bottom end it required some pretty extensive work...first I lowered the sleeve deeper into the block, bringing the exhaust down to amore reasonable value, as stock the FMS is timed to high on the exhaust IMO......... Then to reduce the the blowdown timing I manually raised all 7 intake ports, and if you ever seen a FMS sleeve you would know cutting those ports is very tricky... Then I did my usually goodies like modified head button, backplate and crank....... In the end the engine was amazing, it had wicked bottom end with a great top end pull.....Today it ran in the Canadian RC Pro Truggy finals and was able to do things no other engine on the track could do ( as you will see int he video )...In the end the driver ended up taking the win and becoming the 2011 Canadian RC Pro Truggy Champion !!!! Anyways enough of my yammering, no sense talking about the engine when I can just show you...

Thumbs down I really need you help

Hi, I have a new (2 race) novarossi plus 21-4btt on my mbx6 and I really disappoint with it
My idle is very unstable
My top end is very bad
I have a lot a flame out in my last race
I use it with the 41039 manifold

I put it another .1 shim because the engine broke 4 plug

But Nothing seems to work
I use p3 p4 from os
i use novarossi 5 6 7 plugs and nothing
I test the 9901 and 9853 and was a little better with the 9901 (to end)

What is wrong? I test the fuel with my other engine (ninja) and work fine
I really disapoint
What else I can test?

Thanks in advance

Just to tell you that I've tried a Novarossi P5 yesterday... WOW I really liked it, very smooth with a truck load of torque.

The engine really impressed me!

Try a 97T plug, I had the same issues in my MBX6. Once I went away from the OS plugs, problem solved!

Default P5

Hi all. I have the older version P5 and I beleive its either the 06 or 08 version. I recently did a complete rebuild on it and I've installed a plus 4 carb on it. Im trying to get more bottom out of this engine and havent really had much success. First I had an 053 pipe on it then down geared and that helped a little but killed my top end down the straight so I'm going to gear back up. FYI I run 1.1 springs all around. I also tried an 0801 pipe on it but that didnt help much either. The only other pipes of mines I havent tried yet is my 9901 and my 086. Also Im not the greatest tuner in the world but i think I have it tuned decently but I plan on having a more experienced guy re-tune it for me. Other then all that is there anything else i can do to try to get more bottom out of this eng? Thanks in advance for any info.

Did you break it in Or just start racing it ? How tight is the pinch ?? I know.with my btt it was super tight which caused idle issues ,I just turned it up till it broke in. The way you describe your situation tho I think its a tune issue .your going thru plugs ,don't idle and it has no power . This engine.has a smooth bottom end but plenty of power and the top end is Insane . Btw OS plugs in a nova is a no no stick to nova ,many people say od
works I have no experience with them so I can't comment on.them

try an RE10 or 2084/21 combo, me and my brother have killer low end with ours and those are the pipes we run

OS plugs is definitly a no no from what I've seen and heard. OD 97T is the only alternative from my experienced and what I've been told.
