And you didn't actually no close the doors.?

I can not tell. On the facebook page of Collari there was some weeks a go a post that he was at the Novarossi factory. One of the reactions of another person was that they did took out some stuff that was sold but was never confirmed.
I can imagine GiMar has bought some stuff but if Novarossi did quit I can not imagine new Novarossi engines pop up so if there is a production going on the Novarossi is working on a quiet restart or a survive through the Covid period.

This makes sense.

they are for your brass high speed needle housing. If you loosen it to adjust your fuel nipple position, those washers above and below should be replaced according to nova, so those washers are spares in case you need to do that.

hi all
ive recently been biten by the 1/8 racing bug and would like to convert my nt48.3 from bashing to racing
ive got a pair of 28-8s that ive sourced backplates and cranks for to convert to bump start motors.
what pipe should i go with for a med size loose dirt track with the truggy?
ive currently got a 9886/41021 combo on it. Will i notice much changing?

im hoping the bump start version of the 28-8 is enough to at least hang with the new motors that are out there on the track today.
the truggy class is pretty small but it should be fun.

Did you have the NT48.3 before? Any durability issues?

i had an mt410 for a couple years prior. beat the bag out of it with no real issues.
I bought the nt48 because it was cheap and i wanted to try bashing with a truggy vs a tmaxx platform so i put the .28 from my tmaxx into the truggy.
i never really got a chance to bash with it.

You should have plenty of power to hang with the newer engines that are out there. The only problem you may run into is fuel consumption. Your .28 will consume more fuel than the smaller displacement .21’s being run. Another thing to consider is that your .28 may be overpowered. When racing on a track it’s key to be smooth and not wreck a lot. If you’re engine has too much power it will cause you to break traction more often and make your truck squirrelly. The .28’s were really made for overpowered bashing fun and not for racing. If a .28 is what you got, go ahead and run it! You will still have fun and could still do well depending on who you’re racing against!😎

this is where im at right now.
the truggy is still setup for a similar track and i picked up the backplates cheap.
so ill be into racing for less then $50 rather then shell out the coin for a real motor/pipe combo.
im just excited to be able to turn some laps. I rarley get a sunday to my self so who knows if ill even be able to make it out there

That’s exactly what I would do!😎 Having a fuel efficient, made for racing engine, is not that important until you really get into it. Even the guys that are “into it” will just be glad to have another truck on the track.

ray4624 05-03-2021 10:31 AM

so i got the motor all in with the bump start crank and back plate.
its been ebis broke in so ill do a couple heat cycles as reccomended.

what should i expect for a run time on a .28 truggy? ive never raced nitro so i have no clue when i should pit etc lol

nitro_mt_racer 05-03-2021 10:37 AM

Fuel economy will vary by temperature, humidity, track conditions....etc. You'll figure out your pit window during practice.

ray4624 05-04-2021 08:49 AM

that makes sense.
is there a starting point i should go with on the restrictors?
The track isnt very big so i wont need all the top end. Currently its the 9mm restrictor but ive seen alot of people mention dropping to a 6/6.5?
thank you for all the help.

nitro_mt_racer 05-04-2021 09:49 AM

We run the 6.5 on our Nova

great thank you that seems to be the consensus. I will tune with that.
