With the virtual impossibility to get a hold of NR parts right now (if ever again) does anyone have any tips for different branded parts that are compatible or a source of OEM parts?

in particular, orings, piston clips, etc. and potentially, cranks, liners and pistons.

this is for Plus21/4 type motors in particular.

Anyone hear any new news on Novarossi's current status?

Yesterday, I heard they officially closed the doors, but could still be a rumor. I'd love to buy one of the engines but not if parts aren't available out there.

hey there, over the last few weeks I’ve ordered o rings, shims, and glow plugs from absolute hobbyz and Wallace motorsports. Wallace appears to be out of most novarossi stuff at this point, but Absolute appears to still have small novarossi things like o rings and stuff for high and low speed needles, base of the carb o rings, and other smalll things. I’ve seen cranks and pistons on eBay and Amazon of all places, not sure if it’s anything for your engine or not but it’s worth a shot.

If the closed doors is official we would have read it on any RC related news site but we do not.....

But replacement parts? Beraings can be found at Boca, TKO and even Ebay. MAX is using Novarossi parts up to his 2019 model and did take over some Novarossi machins to produce the engines by him self but the 2020 model has a different rod with different dimensions. Glowplugs from other brands will work as also cooling heads of other engines will work.
If you need a P/S set then throw some bucks extra with it and you have a new engine.

The is a rumor that Novarossi is bought bij an USA based company....

Is Novarossi direct still shopping? it says nothing on the site and they are still taking orders.

I would contact them and ask. They are pretty responsive to messages via their website. Also ask if they have what you are looking for in stock!!

Novarossi direct is here in the US. Why wouldn't they be shipping? I'm sure they are only working with existing inventory. For example: haven't been any CT06 plugs available in months.

Glow plug

I've just bought a novarossi engine rolling from the guy in Europe who I believe bought a lot of them and selling them on eBay.
My only concern is glow plug someone said the p3 is a direct replacement or can be used please quote me if am wrong,

I know some people that use the P3 in nova engines and say they have no issues.
The P3 is a hotter plug then the recommended CT06 nova plug and I have heard the P4 is actually better to use in Nova engines because its a little cooler then the P3.
I've also heard that if you use the P3 it is recommended to add a .1mm head shim for timing/firing purpose.

A OS P4 would be closer in heat range as the nova CT06 plug. If you ever decide to go back to a nova plug after using a OS plug it is recommended to use a new head button.

Do we know for a fact that heat ranges are the same across all brands of plugs/engines? In other words, is it possible that a P3 and a CT06 are actually the same heat range plug because there's no standard?

I can’t give specific numbers but a os p5 is a little cooler than the ct06 and the p4 is a little hotter than the ct06. I run a P4 in my Mephisto right now and it idled a little better than the ct06. When the plug in my Rolling dies I will try a P3 in it has the head clearance is more than the Mephisto.

Just find and use a #5 Nova plug.. Works in every situation and they last for ever with a good tune.. same plug one season. My season is about 7 - 8 races and a bunch of practice, usually about 5 - 6 gallons
