I can't compare as I've never ran Virtus and just got back into RC last summer. I personally really like the Rolling. I'm running it in truggy. I know reading through this thread a few other guys have it in truggy as well and are pleased with it. With the right tune and pipe combo I feel its great power from low to high. When i was first breaking in still running really rich I had enough to clear a decent sized triple and was good on back straight just a little fat lol.
I have 3 virtus.21 off road and they are beasts from bottom to top also.
With 9901ss/41032 pipe, 9886ss/41031 and 9853ss/41031 this engine can drag the hell out of anything!!
The rolling has the virtus piston ond sleeve combo with the crank from the mito4 and 7 by part numbers. For the money you cannot buy a faster motor imo. Some case mods and more exhaust timing and its an animal
I have a stock Rolling in buggy and a modded Rolling in truggy. Both are an absolute monster and great mileage. I can do 10min pit stops with both engines. I use 021 manifold with 9853SS pipes on both engines.
I have an OFNA 053 which was their version of the 9853. I'm going to be pairing that withe the 41031 on the Rolling this season which should be great for the tracks I usually run at.
Guys,
I'm going to be breaking in a Mantra for buggy this season.
What do you think is better?
I was thinking of running the 41021 with OFNA086 pipe or can go 41001 with the 086.
I read in an older post from Monty Houston that the 41021/9886 combo is insane and doesnt lose any torque on bottom but screams on top.

Seems like all newer novas doesnt come with 17011 front bearings and being replaced by 17007 . Are the 17007 bearings front double shield like the 17011? Just bought a 2020 mantra and it came with some crappy 17004 bearing
17004 and 17007 are 7 ball bearings instead of 8 novas used to come with. the balls are bigger and the races are deeper. the bearing internals should move slower with 7 balls given a certain rpm, so it "should" last longer
I got a mephisto gt5/a for a screaming deal(about$300 us NIB) a 28025 head button and a rubber front bearing to try as a truggy motor. anyone run one in gt before? dumb idea?
