So how do I tell the difference in a long needle and short needle carb if looking down into the carb? Everything I read described what I was seeing with the 24063 carb as a short needle. Maybe I should have actually looked the needle up to see...smh.
It's easy to tell because even with a 8mm insert the needle is not quite fully out of the spray bar. Even though long needles can be trickier to tune it's also what makes them so smooth from top to bottom and less likely to have a rich spot in the mid range like a short needle. |
Yeah, I just looke at the 24063 again. Carb has to be almost fully open before needle pulls all the way out.

I don't think it's a 9901, looks like it's just a basic 2 chamber non-SS pipe
|
Just got some info that the 51019 is not a great pipe. Looks like the 9886 but not the same.

Why did you post that in a novarossi engine thread?

Is the only change for the P5XLT-16 only the new head? curious to know if there were perhaps any other small changes? Great motor, would gladly run another.

Different backplate, 3 needle carb, and silicone filled crank with a little bit more timing than the last p5xlt. Same p/s and pretty much everything else.
