I had an Elite 5. Had it broke in, ran it several times trying different pipes, and on the LARGE track I race on, it lacked the top end and mid range I wanted. 25 guys behind me are going to post how great and amazing and life changing it is.

I wasn't a fan of the P5 either.

For a 125 bucks I'm sure it's great.. No engine that costs three times as much is three times as good...

As good, or better?

As good tells me it's on par. Which isn't what I wanted, I wanted a motor that provided a stronger mid range, and a lot more top end without giving up fuel economy. I was much happier with the Legend 4 for 75-100$ more. Or a 7 port for $125 more. Were they twice the motor? Easily. Clearing a 65 foot triple or not is a large difference in lap times on a huge outdoor track. The elite 5 couldn't do it in buggy, and truggy I couldn't even imagine trying it. The 4 port could clear it, but you had to be perfect. The 7 port made it easy.

Everyone has their opinion. I ran all of these motors personally. On the track I race at, which is huge, the Elite 5 just wasn't enough for me.

I love a smooth bottom.

Love it.

The 4 ports were as smooth as the 5 port, but actually had a top end charge.

Default Mito 7

Any header and pipe recommendations for Mito 7 on both trug and bug?

Headers - I'm looking at 41020, 41021 and 41031. I see headers 41005, 41001 and 41019. They are shaped different. Are these current headers? Pipe options seem to be 51006M, 51016 and 51020M. Is the 20 a smoother pipe?

Have you tried it the other way around? 9853 in the truggy, 9901 buggy? Usually people like the 9853 for its low end grunt.

yes depends from the engine ,i find the 9853 the thin one not the ss better for top end and always better in accelaration ,the 9901 always is better for saving fuel and mrrd rps ,these days i am testing 2096,loks like 2096 is also bad ass ,i am testing with all the headers that i have and i was surprised its giving the best with an rb header,,,,after all thats why this hobby is so cool,,,

I couldn't imagine ever needing to run a 9901 on my Truggy. Bash_bros is right, the 9853 is usually a Truggy pipe and the 9901 for Buggy. I ran a 2096 on Truck for awhile, but quite honestly, it didn't do much for me. I also ran it in place of a 9901 in Buggy with a 7-port for awhile, and that turned out to be a decent combo.

i also run in buggy 7 port modified or stock ,you have a good point ,in most tracks and in the most races 9901 is aleays the champ ,in the big track that i am racing after 4 years using novarossi pipes and engines ,i am always slower around the track with 9901 ,using 9853 with thin type not the ss always faster but with more spining wheels, when i visit an other tight track 9901 is better, the only thing that makes diference is also that i modify the engines my self and in every day normal race rules are not catching ne here in greece ,yes iam destroing alot of engines but when i success with the mods the pipes are totaly diferent in behaving , we are also testing our stupid modify engines in oval dirt tracks with buggies and trugies ,oval tracks with big straights its a other story ,almost no rules but great great fun,

its all about the manifold...... the manifold will almost matter more then the tuned pipe.......... the mellowest manifold is a 41021, especially on the extra long stroke engines....doesn't mater if its a 9886 or a 9901 as long as its on a 41021 the power will be toned down......... Swap over to a 41001 and the 9901 will become a monster and 9886 will be even moreso a monster........ My advice for a Legend 7 is a 9886/41001, 9901/41001, 9853/41001......you could also check out the 41032 manifold...... avoid the 41021 as the extra long stroke don't like it overly much, loses about 15 % power as opposed to the 41001

Any thoughts on 41005, 41019 and 41031 manifolds?

So 9901 is a little smoother than 9886. Where does the 9853 fit compared to these two. Can someone compare all three pipes by torque, top end speed and fuel mileage? I know the manifolds affect torque and top end. Do they affect fuel mileage?
