Have a quick question regarding a Nova P5X: is it feasible (recommended) to put the innards of a P5X (button head/piston/sleeve/rod/crank) into a P5XL case and back-plate?

you have to use the button that comes with the p5xlt in order to use the lowered head though
are you wanting to use the new coated crankcase ? The reason that I had some hesitation is that I noticed that the back-plate on the P5X has a couple of "dents" in it on either side of the channel where the bottom of the piston sits, whereas the same part on the XL did not, and it then dawned on me that the inside of the engine block was probably channeled differently between the P5X and P5Xs... Hence my wondering if the old P5X sleeve/piston/crankshaft would work or create some sort of power-robbing turbulence. |

Hi Monty. The P5XL crankcase I plan to use is actually the bare aluminum one, not the newer black one. I got it off e-Bay because my regular P5X case had a broken back-plate screw shaft stuck in the block and that was the closest replacement I could find on short notice.

the only difference is the buttplate , the round one gives more low end torque through less case volume , try them both for yourself and you will see what you like ;)

Hey guy's I have a question about exhaust, I am running the Toro Nero in my MBX-6 and love it. I am running with a 9901SS pipe and the 41029 short header for the Mugen buggy,my track that I run at is more technical then fast but that being said there is still an 80ft straight on the far side of the track and a few solid jumps. Being that I am still very new to the offroad racing I am wondering if there is a better choice for me with pipe and header selection? I will be picking up the long version of my pipe (41030) for the Mugen buggy but what pipe and header combo would you all recommend to get the most out of my Toro Nero?
Thanks guy's Sean |

What do you feel you are lacking with that setup?

LOL yes it is a solid runner thats for sure, but if I was to point one thing out that seems to be lacking it would be the bottom end. Now that being said it only has a gallon threw it at this point and I have not gone far off the stock carb settings since break in (of which I did the heat cycle method) at this point I am 3 hours lean on the low side and 4 hours lean on the high side from stock and with this setup on the track during the tight mid section I feel it is building up and killing my low end thunder.

Get a little more fuel in it first and try the longer header. If you still want more try the long header and 2084 pipe. You can also use heavier springs on the clutch.
I will add that I am in n o way unhappy with the performance of my setup as I was still able to manage a second fastest lap for the day and a 2nd in the A main at the last club race, I am just looking for ways to get the most out of what I have. Thanks for the advise guy's Sean |
quick question guys,is the JP3 or 4 header the same lenght as the 41020?
would it work with a 2084ss pipe for better bottom end? I have an extra JP header. Has anybody tried the JP/Nova combo? I'm trying to save a little, I could buy 5 or 6 glow plugs with that dough  |
