It is not as you need diffreent carburators, you do not need different shockpistons either, but it is nice to have as a tuning option. Just as pipes/manifolds and venturies. The more knowledge you have the more you can make out of enginetuning, just as you have on chassistuning.

Question
I have a BTT turbo button that I want to put on a P5 to replace the standard button. Anyone know if it will fit? The BTT Button appears to be deeper than the standard button. Anyone know the correct shimming to compensate?

Hey guys I need some help
I have a btta that has about 6 gallons on it
The lower my fuel level Getz in my rank the shorter my engine will idle before flaming out
It has a small amount of mechanical comp
I put new button and plug new fuel lines new clutch etc
I've tried a few different tuning things
I've got two copper and one silver shim
It will come in perfect temp nice amount of smoke
It will stay running if I blip the throatle but will die under one quarter tank in 4 to 5 seconds arfter coming for a stop
However over a quarter it will idle probley
It doesn't lean bog drives smoothly etc

May pay to check for an air leak where the fuel nipple goes through the tank. Had a similar issue that I chased my tail with until I noticed it was happening when the fuel level was below the nipple. Hope this helps

Yeah try a new tank and if that doesn't fix it, get a light pinch done on it. I had a tank with a tiny crack right at the seam. It was so small it didn't visibly leak yet as soon as fuel level fell below it, the tune changed dramatically. I only found it by pressurizing it while holding it under water. New tank fixed it up.

Sounds like a pinch is in order. As the engine gets hotter the seal loosens up between piston and sleeve. If you really have 6 gallons on it, then i would have it pinched by a professional.

I agree most likely a pinch, but do check the glow plug and make sure it's the right one for the engine. I find the 4 ports like a slightly warmer plug and to not have a low idle. If you make the idle perfect it won't be after a few tanks and or a low tank. Bearings- I've seen some crappy bearings in the last year or so. Mostly rear ones. fuel tank- I had some issues on my mbx-7 lids not sealing properly just a thought. Fuel- if it's good it's great if it sucks it sucks.

Unless you are lucky, you're probably better off saving the carb and getting a new P5xlt

I've got a question. I have a P5XLT that has less than 2 gallons on it. It runs so good and so strong, I can't figure out what makes the more expensive Nova engines worth the extra money. Maybe someone that has experience with all of them can chime in.
