Are asking about the glow plug has burnt out? That can happen. Doesn't mean there is a problem with the engine.

Your engine should have pinch after 4 or 5 tanks. I have over 3 quarts of fuel in my novarossi and still not broke in.

brokenmoto 07-17-2017 09:55 PM

I know nothing about Nova pipes. I'm thinking of getting a Legend 4 off. I run buggy and like a lot of snap but would really like to know how specific pipes/manis perform. Any help is much appreciated.

I understand but the price differences are still great.
In some cases more than 100 €.
For me it does not pay to buy in Direct USA because then when I arrive in Portugal I have to pay another 23% TAX on the price.

Hello Mfavor,

I would suggest that You should not be worried. A completely Broken-in Race Ready 2 stroke R/C engine will not have "Pinch" when it is Hot or even close to Operating Temperature. It will have a "Pinch" while it is on the resting/room temperature..

Cheers.. :)

Yea that's what I figured.so yea when it's cold it's got alot of mechanical pinch still but when at running temp it's smooth and I can roll the flywheel over.so I guess this engine is ready to be beaten on some already.every engine is different so I suppose I'll start leaning it out and having fun with it.ive got a little over 7 tanks through it at this point.thanks alot.

stanleyw808 07-18-2017 11:03 PM

Hello Mfavor,

During the ending cycle of my Break-In Process I usually try to feel if there is still a "Mechanical Pinch" while it's Hot or not. If I could feel there is still a pinch then I will not lean it to Racing Tune. Patiently run the engine again at about 80% until it "Loosen Up" at close to maximum operating temperature..

Cheers.. :)

If only 8 tanks, is it pre-run version?

dan_vector 07-20-2017 02:31 AM

You'll know when the engine is fully broken in because it will keep consistent tune. A engine will get progressively richer as the engine breaks in (if you don't keep leaning the HSN). Once fully broken in the engine will maintain tune throughout the whole tank. I don't worry about pinch etc just look for the engine 'dropping it's nuts' as detailed above.

Any word on the Mantra?

wichitafc98 07-24-2017 11:30 AM

I got one, I have about 3 quarts through it. It's starting run really nice.

Just a funny comment I have to share.

On a Facebook Racing page I frequent, a kid wanted info on a Nova motor. I gave it. Everyone besides me said don't get a Nova, they are not racing engines....

Since when did Novarossi Engines become extinct in racing?? haha. thought I would share. I love Nova's and always will.

Not fastest but competitive and reliability + durability

I run a stock Legend 4 with Ceramic front and rear bearings on my buggy. The Novarossi 9901\41021 combo makes great all around power and still gets good gas mileage. I run 7mm carb insert

Novarossi may not be the most performing and fastest on the market.
But they are quick more than enough.
But in reliability stability are of the best, and in durability the other brands are well behind the Novarossi. This is pure and hard reality. :aceno com a cabeça::aceno com a cabeça::aceno com a cabeça:

I'm a Novarossi fan and I'll always be

Seriously? You can't beat the latest Novarossi's in all areas - power, stability and durability as well as best fuel economy! Best on the market quality hands down.

motoclay 07-25-2017 02:33 PM

So again....where is the Mantra?? I want one!! Lol

HaulinBass 07-25-2017 02:59 PM

Absolute and nova direct have them for about 240us with the discount code

i own and run both nova's and os speeds and the nova are just as fast if not faster. tune one properly and you will change your mind

that is usually the issue .... once you know how to tune a novarossi built engine, which is simple .... follow minor increments once close and you will reap some great benefits ..... the runtime I get is awesome ....

am 07-26-2017 06:46 AM

I have great experience with OS and Nova based engines.

OS maybe has has a slight edge in power, but, usually that power only gets lost in wheelspin for the avarage driver... So there is no point. And they are way way to expensive so i have stopped buying OS branded engines and gone back to Nova. Unless there is high grip and a large track, i get better laptimes with my BTT engines as they are easyer to drive.

Previously i have sold Crono (Novarossi, Recab OS engines and also for a slight momont, Picco). I now sells Nova here in Norway.

In our last Norwegian cup race, i was the only one doing 10 minutes fuelstop in my semi, and only one doing 9minutes in the finale! Only one OS guy made 10 in the other semi, with several OS-engines in semi and A finale. I drove a slightly modified Novarossi Elite 5 engine. I ended 6th in the main.

The Elite 5 is suprisingly easy to drive and very smooth. Has the top end of an OS but use a bit more fuel than OS. OS is 3 times the mony of an Elite 5...

Looks like no one has ever bought a Mantra.
For your car, that's why we still do not have information about it ... This is what I think.

What I noticed differently in the Mantra for Mito4 and the carburetor are different and now the New Rolling 7 brings the carburetor like Mito4 with 3 needles

Damn another NEW motor.....hmmmm.....if it has the same bearings as the Mito I'm out.....
That stepped bearing in ceramic is pricey!

it has the regular 14.5 bearing, not the fancy offset type

ohhh my 07-28-2017 11:49 PM

Just picked up a 28-7 to replace my K4.6 in a Savage.

The clutchbell, bearings and washer from the K4.6 won't fit the Novarossi. It seems the crankshaft? is just a tiny bit bigger.

Any recommendation on where to get a new clutchbell and washers. Also, what gearing should I go with? I have an extended chasis.

ohhh my 07-29-2017 01:04 PM

Finally have my engine installed in an HPI savage.

I had to flip the carb to the other side, but now the exahuast pressure nipple is on the bottom side of the exhaust, is this okay?

Big B 07-29-2017 02:18 PM

I have 2 quarts of Byron Race 3000 plus a 1/2 gallon of break in fuel through my Roma and it just gets faster every time I run it. I did change the pipe today from a Losi RE10 to a Nova 41001 and 9886, what a difference. Its almost to fast on the top end, granted I was just running it up and down the road, and not a track. I am going to try to get to the closest track this week (its about 2hrs away) i know there are a lot of guys who run Novas there and can help me get a good race tune on it, but I think I am pretty close, on a high speed run up the road I am hitting about 240 to 250 degrees, no funny noises, and a faint but noticeable smoke trail. The plug still looks like new, when I pull it and put after run oil in there is a brownish tint around the threads and on the very bottom but it wipes off easily, no burnt spots and its not dripping fuel, just moist.

Now I am torn as to which motor to put in my race 8Ight-t, the Roma is excellent, but I wanted something different, I have a OS .21XZ-B Spec 3 ready to break in, but I might have to get another Nova. I was thinking a Vir-tus 7, Mito 7, or Bonito 7. I am leaning towards the Vir-tus, but any help is greatly appreciated, also any info on pipe and manifold choices would help, I am very new to nitro, and I have allot to learn.

slashracer111 07-30-2017 06:59 PM

Hmm still no comments on the Mantra....

I'm buying one. I'll report back once I have ran some fuel through it. :)

motoclay 07-30-2017 08:05 PM

I ordered a Mantra also... excited to try something new...my elite 5 is still ripping but I'm ready to see what else is there

racingnewb 07-31-2017 12:23 PM

Looking forward to hear what you say about the Mantra

Novarossi released a new .21 7 port the Rolling

Expose193 07-31-2017 11:31 PM

Novarossi karma

Any information on the novarossi karma?

HaulinBass 08-01-2017 11:41 AM

Karma is based on the 21-4 from the early 2000s. Similiar to the bloody in the live range but with the better case and cooling head

Roelof 08-01-2017 11:57 AM

So with a 19.2mm sleeve as also the Ielasi Tuned or the standard 19.5mm as in many models?

I normally run a Werks B6 Pro2, and I bought a Karma to try out since I had a 9901 pipe. It's a good engine for the money. Very mild engine. I don't care for the carb pinch bolt that it comes with, so I changed it out with the one from my worn out Keep Off 4.
