Does anyone know what crank the Nitrotec came with? 15007T or 15007 or 15009T

I'm pretty sure it's the 15009, same crank as the p5

Chris Reilly 10-05-2015 12:03 PM

well it about to get an improvement in that department and then surprise some people when it goes better than any Nitriotec they have ever seen. While I have a big grin on my face.:lol::lol::sneaky::sneaky::sweat::D:D

The elite 5 its a awesome engine, a friend test one in a d8t and ran great. www.speedlinehobby.com have them for $124.99 with their coupon code.

Rampokker 10-06-2015 04:42 PM

Can someone tell me if the Clio P5 is worth the extra money over the Top Elite 5? Is the Clio that much better?

For $130 or whatever the Elite 5 dropped to, it's hard to beat. Especially when I'm almost sure they're the same motor.

rceefreak 10-06-2015 05:13 PM

Whats the difference between the 15007t and the 15009t and which is the better of the two?

Produce different power delivery, 7 use in 4port n 9 use in 5port but 7 is preferable for both

Dang that's dirt cheap, and free shipping. Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah, I can't see getting the Clio unless you really want a lcg head, or purple is your favorite color. Pretty much only difference is 15009t crank vs 15010 and the head button w/ o-ring. I could be wrong since I've never tried the Clio, but I'd bet you'd be hard pressed to tell any difference performance wise vs. the Top

The 15007t is also very similar to the 15010. Side by side I couldn't tell much difference except the 15007t has a little more polishing done to the inside of the barrel. I believe the timings are the pretty close if not the same as well.

Okay I need novarossi help . I have a plus 21-4btt tuned motor what is the new version of this motor ? Easiest motor ever to tune and has worked really well for me . Anybody know what my options are ?

I don't know the full story, but that motor evolved into the Keep-off series, and some say it was neutered when they went to the new bearings.

That said, the 4btta can still be found brand new around the web, and several people, including team drivers, swear by them.

Edit: Hint: Absolute hobbiez has them still IIRC

dangit... I need another engine like I need another hole in my head but u cant beat these new prices w a stick lol .... I think I may have an addiction

Yeah this hobby is way out of control, LOL

I think I spent over $5k getting back into it this year and I had a fair amount of stuff I kept that was in good order.

yes it does...it also has a very fancy double slugged and tuned crankshaft... its a very nice engine IMO...

Gavel 10-07-2015 01:53 PM

Its too bad the rex legends have steel bearings. At least the ones in Aus do

Go pick up an 8ight 3.0 for 399.00 + 10% off from amain, then you'll need another engine, lol

I don't see anything that says specifically the mito is out of production.

How does it compare to the other 4 ports? Are the porting and timings different or is it the longer stroke that makes the biggest difference?

I was wanting to try one out in my buggy, but then I got thinking about maintenance and what not and the standard .21 Hudy tool wouldn't even work with the 14.5mm bearings would it? Not a deal breaker, but.....

That's weird, just looked 5 mins ago and the Mito 4 is still there.

I Am not sure yet as I have not tested one..... but IMO the crank wont make too much of a difference as the sleeve is still the same sleeve as before and is not really aggressive enough to benefit from the crankshaft...but with that being said the Legend 4 is still a nicer engine then a BTT or Keep-Off 4........... Also it only has a 16.8 mm stroke whereas the Mitro 4 has the 17.6 mm stroke

Neal is there any benefit from a Legend's long 16.8 stroke over the extra long 17.6 stroke from the Mito?

I have a thread asking about longer strokes - and we finally got to the bottom of it towards the end.

It still stands to reason; very few of the Novarossi factory drivers are running the Mito.

As stated in the other topic there is no way to compare unless you have precise the same configured engines. The problem is that engines from a different model are for sure different timed and can have different materials. For sure a 1 degree difference in timing can give a different feeling in an engine and will give a wrong idea about the differences between a long stroke and an xtra long stroke.

cczjordan 10-08-2015 06:10 PM

Same porting = same output, different crankshaft/stroke = different powerband (delivery).

The elite 5 for $139 is hard to beat if you're going cheap.

Remove everything include fr/rr bearing n wash it n use compressor to blow

If it flamed due to wear caused by dirt then it will be shagged. Remove psr and clean all parts then reassemble and if it fails the drop test you will need new bearings and psr or pinch. Drop test is where you hold the flywheel and if the the engine drop through tdc under it's own weight in less than 10 seconds it is too worn.

Hoese37 10-13-2015 08:32 AM

What's everyone's take on the Virtus engine? Prices are dropping so I can pick one up for cheap now.

If it has digested dirt. The crank and everything else could be junk. Scratches in the liner won't wash out.
