Finally pulled the trigger on my B5 from Amain so now I can post instead of just lurking:)

I'm gonna start off w/ the TTR 2035 pipe, but have reservations about it after seeing the difference in run times of it vs. a Dynamite 053.

ok thx...

Youll like the 2035. Ive been runnig one since I got my B5 Back in November. I just bought a 2013 just so I can see if theres much of a difference. But on the track I pull down the straights just as fast as the B5s with 2013s. So ill let you know after I run the 2013 for awhile.

What about run times w/ the 2035? My friend was running a B5 w/ Dyn 053 Saturday and got 10:07 one run, 10:20 the next. He switched to the 2035 and run times dropped dramatically.

In the main final at the Nitromania event. Bas pitted at 12min with the 2035.
I have to say the track was realy blown out and full throttle was not even possible down the traight.

Hes running it way to fat. With a 2035 I can get 11 to 12 min run times know problem. My buddy runs the 2013 with same runtimes. At only 10 mins with 053 hes still running fat.

Well I have put some more tanks on my new B5. (About 15 total) I decreased the air gap to .5 and I'll tell you guys I love this engine. Its idling great and has excellent low end. Quite a bit more than the B7 IMO. The werks 30% is working good too. I timed two tanks the yesterday and I got 11 plus min with the 2013 pipe. So I would agree with the other posts, At 199.99 a pop..keep 'em coming.

See Steve I told you they run forever on a tank of gas..........

you can get 10min pretty much out of any engine if you lean them out.

my observations was that going from a 053 to a 2035 i had to lean the top to get the same power as the 053. if i get a chance will do more testing to make sure. i would really like to try a 2013

I would not be so quick to say that you can get 10 minuted out of pretty much any engine if you lean them out. Go on a few of the other engine threads on RC Tech and I do not think that you are going to see a lot of guys talking about doing 10 minutes with ease lol!

Regards,

Ron

I'll second that. I get 12 in truggy with a AE 2035 and 10 in buggy with a TT2035. And the track I run is huge and allows you to be WOT quite a bit. Here's a video of someone practicing on the new layout.

^^nice track!

everyone whose getting 10 and 11 plus minutes what break in method are you going by?

heidmann1 01-18-2010 05:41 PM

Yep, I agree also. Most engine will NOT get 10 minutes runtime at race throttle. And I think numerous people on this thread have tried the 2035 pipe inlcuding myself and it get's great mileage and power. I still think the 2013 is better . BUt thats just me. And at every big race I am at I see people run out of fuel with nova's and vspecs run out of gas just trying to make it to a 8 minute pit. The B5 just gets great mileage. And the guys that do that I know run 6mm restictors, limit throttle epa ,etc... I get 10 without any of that....and 11-12 in my truggy

heidmann1 01-18-2010 05:49 PM

Im just curious, maybe everyone alread knows this, but the guys saying the mileage is bad with the 2035. You do know you have to completly re-tune when you switch pipes right. If you run a 035 then switch to a 2035 tou are going to have to lean it out a lot, I know I have tested the 053.

Also it is not bad that you have to lean the engine out for a different pipe. Actually that usually means that pipe is better on mileage. The fuel to air ratio is still going to be correct when you tune in correctly. So "leaning it out" to get the same power as a previous pipe is totally normal. it doesnt ,ean that you are running it lean becasue of that pipe. That pipe just has different flow than the other one.And requires a different setting.

Like I said most of you guys probrably already know this but some night not...

plus 4. 5 .6
if all things being the same what temps you were getting with a 053, and then retune for a 2035 which you have to lean what temps you were getting?
guess having to lean out 2035 to get the same result as a 053 does not reduce the life of an engine.
