SO removing the inner seal right off the bat is probably the best idea....

I think this is something that I am about to experience.... Recently when I removed the flywheel the rubber shield popped off the front bearing. I havent actually reinstalled the engine yet so my fingers are crossed that it still has a good seal...

If not, can anyone give a step by step tutorial on how to remove and replace the front bearing (and what bearing should I buy?).

Thanks.

Haven't tried a P3, but a Werks #5 does the job perfectly and is probably what most people use.

Definitely a werks #5! An Orion #5 would also work pretty good.

Front bearing for B5 Pro

Just wondering if people could tell me what is the best replacement front bearing for the B5 Pro is? I have been told that this is worth looking at: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...-Front-Bearing but need something urgently as its been on back order for quite some time...

Cheers

Joining the Werks family, ordered a B5 Pro and 2013 for my 8ight-T 2.0.
Can't wait, this one will go in my roller.

Has anyone else had issues when trying to mount the B5 Pro to the Losi 8T 2.0? I am having issues with the carb slide catching the plastic cover on the centre diff housing. I have tried to move the engine mounts back as far as possible but it still wont work. I could spin the carb linkage but it would mean the linkage to from the carb to servo would not be parralell.... Can anyone offer any solutions?

You can also dremel down the plastic diff mount slightly and save the money. Some of us didn't like the aluminum diff mount and switched back to stock.

So it is OK to run a P3 plug if I dont have a Werks plug?

If I am out of WERKS plugs I use OS P3 plugs. They work fine.

I just put a TKO in, can't beat the price for a ceramic.

The biggest decision is whether to leave both seals on or not....

I've only opened a handful of engines and all had both seals on the front bearing. I would think that if it's a problem, the manufactures wouldn't put them on to start with. Removing one of the seals in my opinion could also induce are leaks and fuel leaks through the front bearing. JMO.

i have never seen an engine come with both seals on... that's a first for me.. the reason why one seal is left off is for lubrication purposes..

Maybe I'm mixing up which is the front bearing. The one I've seen two seals on is the smaller one on the outside of the case on the end of the crank, the bigger inner bearing usually only one seal, open on the crankcase side.
