Well while we are sharing our results and showing the dominance of the Werks motors I suppose I will add my results. :D

Two weeks ago I attended a cash race and won the Pro Buggy A-Main with my Xray 808 '10 Spec and my B6 Engine. There were 30 some pro buggies so I was definitely happy with the performance from both my buggy and engine.

This past weekend, I was leading the main when my compression line came loose causing me to pull my car off the track (don't worry, engine is fine). Luckily, a fellow Werks driver ended up winning the main.

quadracer we had the same luck lol...ran the midwest nitro series yesturday qualed 4th in pro truggy, in the 25 min main I pitted at 8 and 16.5 due to new engine only having 2 quarts through it running slightly rich yet, 'I was battling bak and forth in 2nd place from the 10 min mark on and ran out of fuel with 15 secs to go lol.....I think my pit guy gave me a "short" pit as when I came in for my pit at 16.5 I was in 2nd and 3rd came in at the same time as me but no big deal I was very happy and can not wait for my 2057's to come in :)

Ah man LOL. It happens. Oh well.

I've seen CJ wheel that xray and werks around a couple of times, he is FAST!

Hmmm, I'm having similar issues. How hard is your engine to start after this happens? Me, I have a heck of time. Ron has suggested that I was too rich on the bottom, but I spent some time today working on this issue and didn't make too much progress. I'm going to check the tank and lines again to make sure there are no bubbles, which would indicate a busted tank...I had a stalling issue on my truggy, and it was a bad tank that was causing the problem...

I've been having similar problems. I also have really low compression when I move the flywheel, almost no hesitation to turn the piston over :( would an air leak be a problem? I'm going to try to seal up the carb... any suggestions?

Which pipe is the best?

Ok, I know overall which is best but I dont own either pipe. First I'm running a xray XT8 truggy on a 160 x 80 track and I want to know what the overall best pipe that I own, that would be good to start out with. I have a grp 2053, losi re10, re11, jp 1-4, thunder tiger 2035 and 2039, dynamite 053, or a novarossi 9853/41021 pipe and header.

Mine has been really easy to turn over since the 2nd gallon. I'm now working on the 7th without incident.

Wheew. Now most people love the torque of this with in the truggy, I have a 2013 in mine. I haven't seen unbelievable globs of torque yet... Would getting a larger clutch bell help?

The interesting thing about this motor is that it'll run reasonably well even with the needles out of balance. I've had the same problem you describe when I was running the top lean and bottom rich. When I got the needles sorted out I could overshoot the triple at our local track by 3ft. Would be more except all of the wheelspin :)

By larger do you mean 13t to 14t? If so, that helps top-end speed and robs bottom-end grunt.

mike881 07-18-2010 09:14 PM

oops I meant a lower pinion. Yeah going from a 13 to a 12? I have plenty of top end....

It's supposed to help, but I haven't heard of anyone having trouble with torque in truggy with the 2013.

The TT 2035 and somes likes the JP-4. The 2035 is very good in the bottom, will move the Truggy very easy with great bottom and top end. The millage is very good also. I used to use the tt2035 very close to the 2013, now I use 2013. Down the road save for the Werks 2013, you will love it. Look for post #1252, 1255, 1318. This is a few post of many that I keep as reference for pipes and other topics in this thread. GL
