What can I say. The full mod JS ran better than me!! It ran great at Motorama!! Especially will the Lucky 7 airfilters. Thanks to ED and Joe!!:tire:

jpalessi 02-22-2010 12:41 PM

Thanks!

i just wanna say thank you to everyone who helped make it a successful weekend for EBMods/JS Racing and Lucky 7 RC! It was great to see some old faces and put names to new ones. Thank you all we really appreciate it!

Ed & I are looking into attending Psycho Nitro in ATL next weekend. :D Hope to see you there!

Sprinkler 02-22-2010 12:41 PM

My son loved his JS engine this weekend in Motorama as well. Very smooth power, easy to tune, great fuel mileage and runs awesome!!!

Thank you Ed and Joe. It was very cool to finally meet you guys this weekend.
We hope to see you guys again soon.

My JS Race Prep ran phenomenal. I am thoroughly impressed. I ran it with an 053 pipe because I like a smoother transition from bottom end to top end power. Im not a top end pipe kind of guy. Like Joe said, the engine doesn't really seem to be very pipe sensitive to run properly. Just install the type of pipe that you are going to want to drive: Low, Mid, or Top.

Plus fuel mileage was great and I was running a bit on the rich side. So I know I can easily get more. But do I want all that power it produces!? :)

What is awesome is that I didnt even have to break the motor in or worry about needle settings from the factory when trying to start the bad boy up for the first time. Plus, I already knew that out of the box, the motor runs. EB, you have a 1 of a kind product!

Very many thanks to Lucky 7 RC and EB Mods for making some really great products.

JUD 02-22-2010 05:22 PM

I took my engine apart to give it a good visuable inspection. Everything looked good. A little carbon build-up on the piston came off easily with a clean paper towel. I still have some pinch on the sleeve with the head button off!!!:D Took off the backplate to check the crank and rod and it still feels like new. Best engine so far!!

techpro 02-23-2010 04:43 PM

Which motor is recommended for truggy the race prep or the fully modded

bcrazy 02-23-2010 04:59 PM

Silver State

I just ordered a race prep from A main for Silver State:nod::nod::nod:
Will there be a JS or EB rep at Silver State March 11th-14th?
I'm looking forward to running this engine. I'm hearing very good things about it.

Im wondering the same thing?

jpalessi 02-23-2010 05:10 PM

either engine is good in either car, its just a matter of which you like better and how deep your pockets are. I run the stock engine in my truck and its plenty. Full mod will rev quicker and have more rpm/top.

nitroal 02-23-2010 05:12 PM

i have seen a race prep in a truggy, and it looked great. these motors are very smooth and have plenty of grunt. i have a full mod coming because it is suppose to be even smoother on the bottom and i have a heavy finger. lol

the full mod will run very similar to the stock engine just rev quicker and have more top.

Who8mySandwich 02-23-2010 05:36 PM

I love the full mod in my buggy!

Johnieblaze 02-23-2010 05:49 PM

I attended Motorama this past weekend, and all I could say is this engine is something to be reckon with. I've had all types of engines in my years of RC and I had a chance to see it run in several different cars and it's the best bang for buck ratio on the market, hands down. I bought three just as gifts to my friends.....Pair that performance with the man behind the motor supporting everyone that had one and it can't be beat on any front. THIS ENGINE IS THE BEST KEPT SECRET..BUT IT WON'T BE FOR LONG....GET ONE WHILE YOU CAN...

Peter Martin 02-23-2010 06:01 PM

TKO is the west coast rep for the EBMods engines. We will be at Silver State under the UpGrade tent. Please come and see us. If you have any needs or questions before the race you can email me @ [email protected]

blktransam 02-23-2010 06:47 PM

well engines are ordered and should be here friday for this weekends race...ordered full mod for my truggy and race prep for buggy...is the full mod getting better fuel milage over the race prep as well? also what is the average run time also?

Thanks,
Ryan

Thank you Peter I look forward to meeting you at Silver State. I may even be at Hot Rod Hobbies the Tues. before SS running some fuel through it and breaking in my new Truggy. (too cold, snowy and muddy here in Colorado)

I'd like to also thank Ed B for taking the time to talk with me about these engines today:)

J-DUB 02-23-2010 07:31 PM

thanks

I cant wait to run this engine this weekend at hcrc. After seeing it run this past weekend and watching my friend put a raceprep in the expert A I know I will be happy. Thanks again e.b. mods and lucky 7

Question about the Race Prep

Sorry for this question but 90% of the racing I do is 1/10 electric. I was wondering what changes will I need to do with the head shimming to run this engine at high altitudes. I will be racing this engine in SoCal and Nevada to start and I assume that the engine is shimmed for those altitudes. Most of my racing will be done in Utah and Colorado at high altitudes with 30% nitro.
Thank you
Brian

brian, i would run the 30% at normal attitudes then run 40% in Utah and Colorado. the deck comes set and we really dont want ppl messing with them. If Ed or I are in hi attitudes we run 40%

I was under the impression that you should run full mod in buggy and race prep in truggy because the modding takes away from the bottom a little and adds to the top. so in truggy you would want the torque.

Throttle response with full mod gives crazy bottom end snap in a truggy. Motor rocks.

The new JS engine is unbelievable. Great smooth powerband and excellent runtime, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new top shelf engine.

They come broke in so you can start race tuning them right away. They will how ever loosen up a touch more and you'll now when it happens cause the motor will go rich and you'll have to lean it 1 or 2 more hours.

blktransam 02-26-2010 02:22 PM

yeah felt like they had just a smidge of metal pinch yet...so I was thinking just taking it easy the first tank and then start tuning it.

Thanks,
Ryan
