Made the Open Division A Main at the RC Pro Midwest Round 1. EB Mods engine was dialed all weekend. Unfortunately my tire gluing wasnt. It only lasted about 4 laps in the A Main until I hit the brakes at the end of the front straight and got to see my right rear foam (fully intact) roll past me in the corner. LOL. Lesson learned.

I finally replied to your e-mail Joe. Thanks for everything!

I run the Losi clutch. I was running 4 aluminum shoes with 2 silver and 2 gold springs. It hit hard on the bottom but my clutches weren't lasting very long due to how heavy of a spring setup I was using. I just tried 2 aluminum and 2 carbon shoes with 2 gold and 2 green springs. I have to say I didn't notice a difference on the bottom end on my full mod. It still hits hard (I like a lot of bottom end punch) and it seemed like I had more top end speed because my clutch wasen't slipping at the top end due to the lighter springs. If your bottom end is a little "soft", your tune may be off just a tad.

I spoke with Ed Bridges on the phone for a little bit about my plug popping and soft bottom end problem. It's all related to my low speed needle being too rich. It runs great out on the track when I can keep the throttle slide open but when I go slow the fuel builds and it needs to clear out, especially in the infield. I will say this, the motor ran so strong that it was hard to tell that it was tune related. It just forced the fuel out and came on with full force in the middle. My plugs paid for it though...I have not had the chance to go to the track since then. Ed will be at the Hobby Hut this Sunday, he said he will take a look at the tune. Not sure it gets any better than that.

I was at the track tonight and I leaned the low speed a few hours. Temps did not change but the bottom end came was there for sure! Problem, my pipe broke where the pipe hanger goes into the pipe. That whole cylindrical unit that is welded onto the pipe end is broken. I am not too sure how it happened, no bad crashes to speak of, it was an Ofna 086 that I put on brand new with the engine. That's neither here nor there, the problem is I need a pipe for Sunday. I am not sure I will be able to find an 086 in time. The Hut does not have a 086, 9901, or a 2041. How would an RE10 or RE11 work with the Full Mod? I will call some other shops tomorrow but if no other pipe is worth running on the Full Mod than I don't want to run something that won't be good. Any other good options?

Try trains and lanes hobbies in easton I know they have some 610-253-8850. If they don't have one find me and I might. You may want to try a 2060 os pipe.

Is the pipe still good? Or did the damage rip a hole in the pipe? I know this sounds ghetto, but you can zip tie down your pipe no problem to the stone guard. It works perfectly-I did it last year in a jam and a foreign Hung Nor driver does this method on purpose for weight savings and he said he prefers the hold better

Try using the GMK spring thing if you aren't already. Should eliminate the end the pipe from being ripped out.

Hi,
Hi i am from Israel, and it is mid summer here about 75-85 deg.
I put my new JS fully moded on a new MBX 6, I run it with 086 pipe a P4 plug and 25% nitro fuel as it is the best we have here. I must say the bottom end of this engine is not as explosive as other os or ninja engines on the track. I tunes the highe an low needles and still alittle week on the bottom, not anough power to jump doubles with a short run, other mugens with OS an RED wngine clear it with no problems.
Doyou guys have any tip?
thank you.

I used to run OS engines and this one has to be tuned a little leaner on the bottom. Give it a try and you will be calling v-spec's weak on the bottom compared to this motor. It took me about a gallon and a half to figure out that I could lean it out more and it still puffs all kinds of smoke. And to TheFcuddy the RE10 works great. I prefer that pipe over the 086 and saw run time improve with the RE10 over the 086 as well.
