EB Mods JS Engine

i happen to get the chance to tear into my buddies full mod motor...
it looked no diffirent then a gen 4 gotech other words the Caster Grenade.
he lost his air filter and decided to keep running the motor.
so i gave it a once over, and the crank will need to be replaced very soon as well as the rod. but i cleaned the whole motor out, rebuilt the carb and resembled it for him, and i got it tuned in pretty well for him..
he could never get it to idle right, (it was a pita for me as well) and i have a couple years under my belt when working with these engines.
and my thoughts is... its not worth what the full mod is going for.
his motor has been a pita since day one, the only time i ever saw it run good was when i tuned it in front of his house yesterday. and it idled for 20somthing seconds and went full wood, with just a tick of hesitation.
i told him it could be about 1/2 to 1 hour to lean to race, with. but we will find out this weekend.
so far i am not to impressed with these engines, for what you pay for.

if you think ANY of the engine parts other then the carb (which is outsourced from another manufacture for both JS and GO) look like a gotech you have no clue what your looking at, cause nothing is the same,, not even close...

still dose not give me a reason to why his motor is a pos and wont idle for crap.... it likes to idle high, witch imo makes the tune shit.

Sending it to Ed to find an answer is a heluva lot better than whining abt it. I thought i could tune any engine myself, but i needed Ed to give me some tuning tips for the JS since it does tune different than what i was used to and it is very important that the idle gap is set properly. My full mod runs very strong. Ed bores the crank in a way that helps balance the rotating assembly better and in conjunction with the lightened rod it spools up faster and revs higher than the race prep. Ask Joe or Ed for help instead of slamming the engine.
