When I mounted the EVO 3 in my G4 I had to grind some material from the chassis because the bottom of the crankcase would otherwise touch the chassis, this would have caused a lot of stress on the crankcase.

How big are the holes in the front and rear of your body?

Hi,
Anyone using these new Sirio STI engines?
I've been out of the racing seen for over a year now, try to crawl back in slowly

Been waiting some time for the STI to get into Singapore. Seems that Sirio not interested in the Singapore market anymore. :flaming: :flaming:
If they make me wait any longer, I might have to jump ship.

I have a pair of those 'Sti' puppies (the work on the innards are incredible), one ready to be mounted for break-in the weekend.

They look really cool, but found some 'problems' with mine units when installing them on the motor blocks, the crankcase is too beefy (good!) and they were touching, needed to mill the engine mounts like this.

You can see more about the milling I needed to do here. Needed to done it on the two and was really quick to do with a Dremel and the almighty carbide bit. :D

Don't know if is that crankcase (my previous Sirios, were the first black ones the S12TRP ABC) or mine engine mounts (Mugen), but people should take care regarding this and n-check if the crankcase touches the engine mounts by other place rather than the mounting holes.

Is the seed for infinity of problems (bad gear mesh, stripped gears, up to a broken crankcase or worse... a broken crankshaft).

I had the same problem with my Evo 3 going in the MTX4. I used Kawahara mounts and problem was solved!
