Got my Sirio Evo 3 IFMAR today. Looks awesome. I cant wait to try it out. I opened it up before putting it in the car, and was a little disappointed to find a few metal shavings in there, Big enough to do damage!
Also, It's a very tight fit in the Mugen MTX3/4. I had to put my Novarossi ball-end on the carby slide (around the LSN) so it wouldn't touch the handle, and i also had to dremel out some of the carby around the mid-range needle so it wouldn't rub against the brake disc. This works ok with standard gearing, but If i run a different pinion/spur combo, it rubs!
I think either Mugen only intended for Nova based motors to be put in their cars, or Sirio only like Kyosho cars!

I have a Sirio Evo2 with a threaded shaft. I would like to replace the shaft with an "SG" shaft. I have been told the Evo3 shaft is the same. Can someone tell me the part number. Also, can someone tell me where I might be able to locate one?

my motor is great. i have the old style ifmar crank. hopefully it doesn't break.
so far it is very quick. i treated it with microron as well
the only problem is the sirio pipe doesn't seem to fit the mtx3 properly, the front tyres have to be very small. (61mm). i think the 4 has the same problem. is this right?

broke a conrod on my sirio the other day, what is the max temp (in celcius) you would feel comfortable running the motor at race temp? i am using runner time fuel and a sirio pipe on a mtx4 with standard gears amd 61mm type-ish diameter foam tyres.

Break in is critical with the Sirio motors. If you break them in too fast you are putting too much stress on the conrod. I followed the break in procedure on the Sirio website with great success. I also run a fuel with at least 11% oil content.

Is was planning to use the Josh Cyrul method, is this advisable?
I have been advised to change the conrod after break-in.

It's always a good idea to change the conrod after break in and with the Sirio's given how tight they are I would recommend it.

Has anyone else run an EVO 3 with the Sirio pipe here? I have been running a new EVO 3 in with the Sirio pipe on it and it just seems to run hard and happy at 110-115 Deg C. If you try to lean it off some more to get it up to the likes of 130 deg it just runs out of fuel in the top end. I did read on the Sirio site forum that the pipe makes them run cooler but i never ever thought it would be around 15 Deg C. Has anyone else discovered this?
