I'm pretty sure that difference of pipe will also give different power band. Hey Dodo, what pipe are you currently using now to get bottom end power? And what pipe you preparing for Futaba Cup? :)

Racing4Evo 06-13-2005 10:43 PM

Right, a lot of us in SoCal are using the Skyline VR 12 pipe which I found suits the motor the best out of all the pipes i've tried. It has a lot of bottom end power which the Sirio lacks when compared to the Novarossi line. I have yet to try a Sirio pipe though.

Are you ready for Futaba Cup ?? :spidey:

Joehwee 06-14-2005 12:12 AM

Sirio run best with their own pipe. The pipe I was using for my EVO3 is the 2611 evo3 pipe as shown on sirio website. I have never find Sirio running hot, my last Sirio was the EVO2 AAC and the temp after 45 mins is abt 120degC. The new evo3 after 45 mins measure only at 104degC.

dodo 06-14-2005 09:19 PM

evo2

a dented sirio pipe, i think should be the same as what joehwee is using (except his is still super shiny).
as for my 'visit' to futaba cup... hahaha it's just for fun, no intention for racing. it's a home race so i'm using this opportunity to visit my parents and clearing my annual leave hahaha, no reason why should i miss the race (i think i will end up spending time at the track than home), right? :p btw who's asw7576?
my evo2 runs at abt 120+ to 130+ degC at last race.

Racing4Evo 06-14-2005 09:48 PM

Right, my EVO 2 ran below 117C with the same pipe I am using. The EVO 3 did run cooler than my EVO 2 briefly but during the race I could not get the proper performance without it running it that hot.

Different country will have different temp on the engine, especially in Singapore. Anyway who are you dodo?

I have break in my Evo 3 and just tuned the engine. I think this is the only engine can beat the Nova. Great power!!

uaerc 06-18-2005 02:42 PM

I have just finished break in on the my 12 tup evo 2 and have the following qs.....

1. engine is running ok. but some guy at the track who was helping me tune the engine played with the mixture needle. How can i bring it back to normal factory setting ?
2. what tune pipe should i use for this and where can i get it. i had a rd logicss turbo 2 which was damaged. so i am using a skyline 7.2mm right now.
3, the engine came with a small brass pc. (collet) that sits below the fly wheel. but we used the one supplied with the kit . is this ok ? or should i switch.

You can try rcmart for sirio evo3. My one is my friend bought from Hong Kong and the price is cheaper, but I can't tell you the price on the public forum. Sorry!

I'm using Epexi in-line 6mm for my both Sirio evo 3 and BRB. Cheap and perform.

Kowloon, Hong Kong
Tel (852) 2858 6382,

FYI : Mongkok area is rc heaven, lots of rc shops and can bargain if you buy lots of things.

Get a taxi from your hotel !!! Give the adddress to hotel concierge and concierge will talk to taxi driver and take care of you.

I think Kwong Wa Street now is "War Game" haven. I don't think it's RC haven anymore. I'll PM the shop details later...
