.12 engine

guys i have a rr-evo and i'm choosing which sirio engine is better to use with my ride. i narrow down the choices to 2 models, the 5 port evo-2 ABC sg crankshaft or the .12 5 port tup-pro AAC. so which is which..........

buboy, i think there is no evo2 5port. ask local distributor, i think they can help you better and give you a good deal on it. the fast guys in our area use a 5port aac. :D

i use a 5 port .12 aac and i am quite happy with it. great power and low fuel consumption.

i think there is one tower hobbies is selling it but it is still on order forgot the price though. already talk with ralph regarding the 5port tup-pro and already is considering installing it just would like another option if ever. i've remove the novamega 5port ms modified engine that was already installed in my rr-evo
and will be using it on my 710 instead ;)

good luck

Thanks for the reply... Thats pretty much what I had heard in general. 'try it standard first, then check the plug and see.' Just wanted to make sure that no one was doing the shim right off the bat.

And what I'm looking for in the plug is to see if the coil is compressed up into the plug correct? That is the sign of detonation I believe.

Thanks again for the answer...

has anyone has any experience with Sirio's .15? I've considered this engine as a great bang for the buck, but can only find a rotary carb version and very little feedback on it

The Sirio .15 only comes with a rotary carb.It runs really good with a slide carb.I had one and it ran good. But I also have a Rossi 3 port Pixi Black that was just as fast.

I have that article. That's what piqued my interest. Just wondered if anyone had any real world experience with it. It looks like either the .15, an Evo2 or a Murnam Mod...

So would this be a good price on a Sirio Evo 2? My thoughts are that it would be a good engine for a NTc3? How would this compare to like a MT12? That price range is kinda what I am looking to stay. How does Reliablity and Holding a tune compare to the other brands?

Thanks

Jeff

I think it is an excelent price.... for an Evo2???. Out of the box both engines, the Evo2 is much more powerful in both low and top end.
Holding tune and sustaining temps is very good, no problems in that area. New carb is very good.
Reliability......I would suggest you change conrod inmediately after break-in process. I think that is the weak point......at least it was for me on my Evo2, which by the way was an early production batch from last year's end trimester. I understand that latest production Evo2's have more low end, and hopefully have addressed the issue of premature wearing of conrod......but
Anyway as i said earlier, it is a very powerful engine, which can hold at par with the latest Nova based engines.
Don't forget to get a good pipe for it. Sirio's own works good, also the Yokomo MMielke, which speedtech has, and lastly i'd try the new Rd Logics turbo II.

Yes, but it is the threaded version, I wonder if the SG shaft version will cost the same.
