check again , it may look like no headshims but being aluminum they look as if they are part of the button

on that standard configuration of 16.26x16.8 I would recommend .80mm to start and after its broke in (a gallon or so) go to .70mm by replacing the copper .20mm with a copper.10mm

hope this helps

got my shims today plan on breaking in this weekend, do you recommend using a used rod,I got one in decent shape not to much slop, would rather stretch out a used rod instead of new one, dude this piston sleeve is tight!, feels like it will stretch out a new $50 rod. shouldn't take near as much run time to break in a new rod, any thoughts would be grateful, Thanks, JT

Its not gonna hurt if you wanna take it apart n disassemble it to install new rod after break in

Preheat your engine for first gallon n a half or so and it will not wear nearly as fast

Thanks, So, I'm going to pull the new rod, break in 80% with used rod , swap back out and finish break in with new rod, then pull the #10 shim, should be good to go for a few gallons. some extra work but new rod should be a lot tighter, last longer, hopefully, Thanks, JT

crazy , that sounds like a lot of work ..... lol

your engine most likely did not come with any .10mm but rather 2 x .30mm and 1 x .20mm , imo pulling the .20mm is a bit much unless you are running 20% fuel.

Dude, I am doing what you said, breakin with .80 pull the .10 out after a gallon, runnin 25% have to, got three gallons left to burn, did find those aluminium shims like you said two of them no copper shim, used my micrometer to put .80 together, all good, swapin rods is easy, use a plastic bag(wrist pin clip!), Thanks, JT

I just watched your buku clutch install video and you talked about taking the blueing off the inside of the clutch bell. How do you do that?

i use non metallic abrasive pad .... scotch brite /3m/brillo

its not 100% necessary but i find the shoes wear in better an more evenly

i got quite a bit of time on the buku clutch systems
