Monty,
My plus 4 ran absolutley flawless this weekend. It has a little over 5.5 gallons and is still running perfect, goes to show you what preheating before every start can do for an engine. Had one flame out but that was from trying to turn a double single into a tripple and I cased the landing during warm ups. DOH! Almost had it too and only the E-buggies can make it a tripple. We did a 20 minute main and I only pitted once around the 10:30 mark. finished the race took one extra lap and let the engine idle all the way back to pits before shutting it down and still had almost 1/4 tank left in the buggy. I don't know what you do to the internals but it works. :sneaky: Gobs of smooth drivable power and run time to boot. One of my buddies might be ordering a X5R from you this week. Just have to talk the wife into a X5L for next year :D

I had 1st for quite a while but..... between my mistakes and the 4th place driver getting into me twice with slow marshals (mainly my mistakes in the main) an 808 did get first! If it wasn't for bump the foreigner in my last 2 qualifying heats then I would have been in A but you know what they say woulda, coulda, shoulda don't mean anything in racing. My first and only qualifying run I had 10 laps only 5 other drivers had 10 laps and 3 of them had 11 laps in qualifying but I didn't get clean runs in my second two heats, the second heat I flipped and a car plowed into me at full throttle then took a short cut and hit another car, and my third qualifying run I did not notice my tie rod was fubared from the wreck and it went out 2 minutes into the heat. Next time I say next time.....

Great thread and info here! (I'm not an engine ace yet........whisper)

I have a new losi 8 rtr....350 engine with ten tanks on it. It runs fine.........a bit tight still I guess. Should I add the losi turbo button?.........or maybe just be conservative, play it safe for now, and try to blend in with everyone else?:)

I think you should leave it alone and save your money for a better engine coming up. Just my opinion.;)

I hear you guys. I'm noticing Monty is quite popular around here in the engine department......and you are saying handy with a bbq grill too? That's awesome!

I think that was the P-5 engine I mentioned. That one seems well liked.

Monty will take good care of ya. Anything that he usually reccomends is usually spot on.
