A wise man once said.....I can make a number of the same engine run a number of different ways. Agreed you must have experience driving or at least tuning a mill before you can make a fair judgment of it.

I had t otry the 3 port and the eight port versions. I dont have the 28's anymore, but I may still have some of the glowplugs left. :tire::tire:

The Bonito probably has too much power for ya then....so far we really like it..has the strongest low end of any .21 I have run to date...

For sure going to catch a race with ya soon. Well, maybe not that soon. The wife is trying to plan a trip up that way to go see the kid at collage. How far you from Forest Grove? That's where her school is and if I can swing it, I'd be down for some racing. Might be after I get my vacation for next year which may put it well after the Nitro Challenge in Feb. If so I'll be chatting with you there for sure on race dates and such for your area. My only other option for some racing up there is in Portland at the indoor elec. track.

Like I said, I know why you just love that X7. Probably the strongest running motor I saw out on the track last weekend. Mostly in the hands of average racers, and I could tell it was more then enough motor for them. A couple of those guys were hitting lines that the super fast guys weren't trying or hitting. Would have loved to see what some of the top fast guys there would have got out of it.

I had the chance to try the X7, but passed on it as I didn't want to have to buy it. I knew as soon as I drove one, I'd have to have one and I ain't got the cash for that yet. LOL.

Thanks again for the P5 engine. really loving it at the moment. Already done about 9-10 litters. Got it running perfect now with around 11 mins 45 secs run time.

A question for ya, with the silicone filled crank, you mentioned that its not advisable to use any after run oil in the engine. whats the reasoning behind this? How do i make sure the internal doesn't rust and all?

At the end of race days, i empty the tank, burn off remaining fuel in the engine, and unplug the fuel line.

I've been using after run oil in the past with a non filled crank in my other engines and they never let me down.

Im just a little concerned with my P5 without any oil in it to prevent rust.

just dont run th efuel out of the engine , dump it from tank only , leave the engine so as the front of the car/engine is facing down letting gravity pull all the oil towards the front bearing , sealing off the engine is also a great idea .

if you use after run oil please use an afetre run oil that is safe for silicone filled cranks , i use rbmods after run oil , any full synthetic oil works great .

i specifically said i had no experience with either engine, they both were not mine, i did not touch either one. i simply stated what i saw at a race. i do now how ever own a bonito that im currently breaking in. i will not how ever own an X7, nothing against it as like i said i have not ran it, but if this bonito doesnt match the style of the ninja ill go straight back to that.

Talked to a few people at the byrons race @ dirt burners about their bonitos and they told me that bottom end was non-existent until they filled the crank, so of course I took some time to watch em run and I gotta say it seemed to have low end grunt but top end was not what I was expecting. I could tell u that the bonitos LOOKED slow but that would be and unfair judgment as I have never tuned or driven one. But I can tell u that I have tuned a few Ninja engines and I am always impressed with the power they produce. My point really is that I don't THINK that u will get what u are hoping for out of the bonito based simply off of speculation :weird:
