Hey Houston.....I have about 3/4 gallon of time on my +4c. Can I race it? It has t on of pinch, and is a bit slow still. Going to go to the 7.5 insert....that could also be adding to the power issue I hope. Thanks!

Don't expect miracles until you have at least a minimum of a gallon , sorry I forgot to tell ya to stick the 8mm red insert in there for break in

Not too sure about your fuel situation either stuart ;) you know what I recommended :D

Needing a FMS crank myself I have studied that myself and have found that the only other engines with the same size crankshaft(14.5mm) is the plus21-5 and plus21-7.

So how did everybody do as far as racing this weekend?

Hopefully everybody got their stuff dialed in and ripped it up?

Monty what should I start with on the clutch springs for that monster we put in my truggy, I am switching it up to the 14t since there's torque to spare:nod:

Need Help

Monty,

I decided to breaking in my new 21-4C team edition today, however, it did not wanted to start. I pre heated the engine with the competition heat. I used Byron 30% (11% oil) fuel. What was wierd was that the flywheel will get stock and I had to free it every time. It happened all the the time. This is my second time breaking in an engine. Therefore, I do not have a lot of experience. But I did not have much problem with my first engine. Let me know if you need more information or if would be best for me to send it to you so you can take a look at it.

Thank you
Fernando

what did you notice over stock?

and ya i am pretty sure you will be VERY excited when you drive the X7 for the first time after break in . Matt Wilcox was the first one to run the engines in competition this weekend at a race in Kansas City at Steve "hillbilly" Hale's track , needless to say he was impressed ;) coming from a plus 21-4c team (buggy) and a H.E.S. P5XLT S.E. (truck) :D

did it start at all ?

is your competition heat warmer getting to at least 160° at the head? , if so then loosen the plug (i dont recommend you should have to loosen the plug normally but sometimes)
is your starter box lined up well and strong enough ?
are you priming the fuel system ?

give it another go and if you cant get it , call me , pm me and i will send you my number

well i had that in buggy first and the plus 4C (RB mod) in the truggy... in the buggy that thing was crazy i had power all through the rpm... but surprisingly smooth enough for the buggy.. no problems controlling it at all... so teh real test with stock vs H.E.S. was to put in the truggy.. so with same pipe, clutch and truck... it's stronger all through the RPM range.. which is even more insane top end... and also i was the only truggy to clear the big double on the back straight consistently lap after lap... and i pulled every one or caught everyone on the straight.. and im talking about all engines stock and modded..
