Hi again Monty

I have a noob question for you... what is the size of a new crankshaft rod-connecting nub on a v-spec - is it 5.00mm? Mine is at 4.95mm horizontally and 4.91/4.92mm vertically. Could it be the reason why my v-spec is impossible to set up?

thanks for the help - sorry the sale eventually didn't happen. Next time :)$

Regards from switzerland,
Paul

its all good

if you rerod at 4.92 you will get about another 2-3 gallons out of the crank but that will be the last time you can do that ;)

i reference all my engine dealings to novarossi , i really dont know how long a vspec will last after doing this , 4.97-8 is new . cant be too tight as it needs to have room for lubrication

thanks for taking the time to help - please help me make sure I understand this properly - you're recommending to get a new rod for this mill? Piston/sleeve looks fine, the piston still cannot travel "through" the sleeve and stops pretty much where TDC is. No cosmetic damage on the piston/sleeve, at least no scratches I can see.

Can you please confirm I read this right? And could you maybe try to explain howcome this mill is already so worn out despite being only through 1 gallon of good-quality 25%? It might have overheated above 250F a couple of times, but it was always treated respectfully with new air filters pretty much every liter...

Thanks :)

Paul

houston, with my engine up to temp and when sitting at idle it will begin to idle up after 3-4 seconds but continues to run. Is my low end needle set wrong ? Is it too rich and loading up ? Any and all help is very appreciated. This is my first mill and Im learning by the hour. Thanks for responding to my earlier question also.

I know that Monty is out of town, but somebody else might be able to help.

21-4 roughly 1/2 gallon
set to run 225-230
original Novarossi plug, have 077 and 099 with me

It runs well, accelerates great off of the bottom, but down the straight is stuters or hesitates for a second and then picks back up. I would think that this is telling me that it is lean up top, butlike I said it is running in the correct temp range.

Any suggestions? I am at the track now and have a race tonight. Thanks

your low end is more than likely not set properly , probably too rich on bottom and over compensating with wide idle gap . or it is too lean on the bottom . if it makes a tingy sound then the bottom is too lean .

it could also possibly be an air leak , usually around the carb lock if there is an air leak . caused from a ripped crankcase lower carb seal oring .

interesting :weird:

what pipe? is it stuttering after it starts hitting top ?

it sounds like the low end is very rich and it is taking a while to blow the fuel out of the crankcase though

Actually, I came to find out that it was NOT the engine but the DX3S going into failsafe! It was mainly happening under WOT so I thought that it was the engine, and it is the second time it has done this (last week too). It finally locked out while turning before it went into failsafe so I had no seering for a split second and I figured out what was happening.

I did find a solution though......4PK!! :nod::sneaky:

What is the prefered pipe and manifold for the Toro Nero?
Nova 9901 with long manifold?
Dynamite 053?
Dynamite 086?

Best regards
