Ok. That's what I thaught with the rear bearing. They feel fine by them self. It only gets gritty when I sinch down the nut. Still replace?

kgombe 12-04-2010 12:17 PM

More than likely your front bearing is no good if you have already replaced the rear bearing properly . The bearings that come in the p5xlt engines should be replaced with a 17011 front bearing asap !! I usually offer this with engines I sell so you the customer doesn't have to worry about it later on down the road ;)

I have not replaced either bearings, just reinstalled them. What rear bearing you suggest

Thanks a lot Monty for you knowledge and honest help. The Shop that sponsors me has a bunch of parts. But if there is something that he doesn't have or can't do for me. You know where I am coming

Byrons Fuel Facility :D

rageworks 12-05-2010 05:39 PM

Wow!, what a facility! I hope they soon start printing
a "born on date" on each bottle of fuel. I'm buying gallons
of Byrons Gen2 30% from my local supplier for $24, while
his supply lasts.

Man those photos look like the first days of Byrons

Monty, was wondering why you recommend replacing the front bearing on the nova p5xlt is there a problem with the bearing they use.I have not broken in the motor I got from you.I am not going to until the spring so have quite a few month,s,So should I replace the bearing before break in or wait till after, Thank,s

Chad Millikan 12-06-2010 09:02 AM

That's one reason why the p5xlt is much cheaper compared to the plus 21-4 line , the 17011 bearing is much more protective than the stock bearing that comes in the p5xlt.

Just lmk if you need one , I have about 14 left .
