Ran my +4 for the first time in a while over the weekend. Was pretty happy with it, but I just can't seem to get rid of the 2 stage idle. It was running about 260-270 all day, in FL, super hot and humid, so I didn't want to lean the bottom anymore. Would going to a 87T vs. the 97T help? Thanks.

Quick question about clutch setup. I went from 3 aluminum with 1.0 springs to 2 aluminum with 1.1 and 1 carbon with 1.0. Is this a big change with 3 shoe clutches?
Reason I ask is the FMS had this short bog, 5 feet or so, when accelerating. Also this was my first time using a 3 shoe clutch setup. I've only used the Losi clutches. Anyway I did the above swap and the thing revs fast, hits the clutch, and almost pulls a frikkin wheely in short grass. So I richened things up just to be sure I wasn't too lean and the engine didn't like the richer settings. So it's definately earns the nickname "the Beast" in my book. Wow. Gonna try a slightly softer clutch but I'll most likely go up a tooth on clutch bell or down on the spur. |
Specs
Hey Monty,
I just picked up a p5xs that needs rebuilt, but before I send it anywere I want to check the specs on the crank. What kind of numbers am I looking for on the rod pin and were the main and outer bearing ride? In MM or inches, either one will work. Also, The rod that is in the motor and the extra one that came with a 4 on the wrist pin side and R on the crank end. Is this the XS or just the P5? Thanks in advance, Mike |

I'm looking to get another plus 4C team from you. My plus 4c crapped out this weekend. Recommendation for pipe combination for trug? What would be the wait time to get a Houston Tuned done on the engine if at all possible? If that can get done will it be possible to ship it 2 day air?

Still a 77T is hotter than 97T. I would compare the 77T with an OS P3 :D |
