use 30% and the shimming is on the money
idle setting at race tune will be around 3/4 turn out from just closed on the slide barrel

Hi all,

I have recently acquired an old Nova BS21-SB. Engine still has very good compression. Can anyone share the specs of the engine? Btw, how old is the model and is the ODO99 plugs works well for the motor?..Thanks

odo99 plug will work fine for this engine

i dont remember the "specs" per se but if i remember correctly it was the short stroke big bore design that i am pretty sure the vspecs were designed after ;) ( dont quote me but i am pretty sure) , it might have been the sbk?

anyway good engine , use it until its done as they are not compatible parts wise with any engine out there today :tire:

Monty, can't wait to get the FMS, I wanted to know what kind of clutch set up is suitable for this engine, I use Losi 4 shoe and its going into an 8T 2.0, with my LRP Z.28R I was using all alum shoes with 2 gold/2 silver springs, 13CB/ 50 spur. thanks.

thats a heavy heavy clutch there mr. :weird: holy smokes

if youre happy with that clutch setup i would continue with using it , if not i would probably try three blue aluminum (losi) shoes with gold and one carbon (losi) with green and make sure you have the good clutch bell :D

Hey Monty, just got done setting up my clucth,3 alum w/gold,1 carbon w/green. the 3 alum are Kings heads 7075 if it makes any difference(it's all I have right now) would running 3 alum shoes cause an inbalance on the crank?just wondering.

i ran the losi for a bit and never had any issues

yes the 7075 shoes do slip quite a bit which cause a lot of aluminum galling up inside the clutch bell . make sure everything is either fresh , new and scuffed in or used and cleaned very well

btw , i am not a losi clutch expert so you might wanna ask about a medium heavy clutch setup in the losi threads :D

rotarynut 08-11-2010 06:45 PM

cool Monty thanks, all the clutch parts are in pretty good shape, I'll try asking the guys at the 8t 2.0 thread about the medium-heavy setup.

I need some good advice on the fuelline and exhaust tube.

My engine runs very rich, with a full tank, but when it reaches half or quarter-tank, it goes screaming.
I have a short length of fuelline but with a filter on and about 8 inch exhaust tube.

what can I do to reduce this problem?

Thanks

Make sure the fuel tank and or the fuel filter has no leak.

There is no leak, I have tryed with 2 different tanks, and when I put a screw into the end of the fuelline, and put presure in the exhausttube it holds presure until it gets so high the fuel cap pops up and let presure out
