just use the OS plug, they look virtually identical in shape

Orion CRF 21 Factory RS V3 WC Edition -NeoBuggy.net ? Offroad RC Car News

Hi guys, I am a complete nitro newbie but I have slowly been learning more about nitro so I can add nitro buggy to the electric classes I run.

Anyways, my Orion CRF motor died on me today and I had a few questions.

1) The motor seized on the straight away. It isn't completely locked up as the flywheel will turn and move the piston about half way before it is completely stuck.

2) The heat before it died, I had an insane amount of power. I had so much power I had to adjust the way I drove the vehicle to compensate for the power the motor was producing. I wasn't running the motor lean and my temps where around 230. I have ran about 6-7 quarts through the motor and haven't had any issues until now.

The only adjustment that was made the entire day was turning the HSN from 12 to about 1 o'clock.

3. How do you get the back plate off the motor to look inside? Is there a certain trick or tool you need to remove the back plate?

Thanks,

Thanks! That video was a tremendous help! I turn to Youtube a lot but it can be difficult to fit RC tutorials that are useful and apply to the type of equipment I run (usually I find a lot of basher related tutorials).

So thanks for posting that, I was able to disassemble my motor and found out the problem. It looks like it is time for a new motor :(

Here are a few pictures after I was able to disassemble the motor. I am not sure the order of how things broke but the conrod and piston were both damaged.

Does the rest of the engines look identical? I got the buggy and truggy combos but haven’t opened the back plates.

Are you talking about the ribs around the crank?

The ribs act as a pump when the carburetor opening is closed by the rotation of the crankshaft and also balance the crankshaft for less vibrations and lower rotating mass.
