K9 Bearing Size

could someone tell me where i may find the bearing sizes of a K9?

Chris Peralta 04-15-2010 05:59 AM

I am 99% sure the bearing is a 14x25.4 bearing, the Novarossi based motors are the only ones that come with a 25.8

I will look up a few things to see what I can find for ya just to be positive.

your are correct 14 x 25.4 front is 7X16

Chris Peralta 04-15-2010 06:22 AM

Sweet, thank you sir!!

Still have not tried one of these engines yet. Maximo, you mod these motors don't you?

Hmmmm, what kind of mod do you do to them? Is it mostly porting on the sleeve? do you also open up the timing on the crank? I run at elevations between 5000-6500 feet and have seen a lot of people really struggle with modded motors around here.

Since this is going to be a test/play motor when I get it I just might have to send it your way.

chewie76 04-15-2010 07:02 AM

so is that a 14x25.4x6 main bearing sorry im thick:nod:

I alter sleeve timing, port shape, crank timing, case volume as well button volume...and I also do some minor flow mods on the sleeve..but for the most part my work will be unseen to the untrained eye......Elevation wont be any issue providing we run the appropriate compression ratio and plug... The end result is when tuned correctly the engine is extremely powerful with a amazing top end and a relatively smooth trigger feel, definitely more bite then stock, but still extremely tractable...If your curious I would love to do one for you

Sounds good to me, I will let you know when I have the K10 in hand.

OS Plugs will not work properly for you, they are a short body glow plugs and you need a long body plug. RB, Novarossi, McCoy, Odonnell will all work. If they don't have any of these brands take your plug to the hobby shop with you so you can make sure the plug you get matches. The threads on the OS plugs will be shorter if you hold them side by side.

Have you used the RB fuel yet. I believe Bryan RB USA said they were getting some around this time.
thanx

Hey Don, it's still not mixed yet but it is supposed to be getting mixed in the next week or so. I know Brian wanted to release the fuel this month but it may get pushed to next month now. They are going to have a lot of fuel percentages including 40% and 45% which might be popular at Nats this year with the 6500 foot elevation. You loose a good 15-20% of your overall power from an engine just going from sea level to that elevation. This weekend is actually the season opener at the track hosting Nats if your lookin for a road trip :D

Let me know when Bryan finishes the magic potion and you try it. We will let you be the test subject
I cannot go to Nats this year work is slow and I am on a budget  but I do know Bobby Tillman (mugen guy from Az) will be there this weekend to battle with you guys.
see ya

I ran a C6 USA last season. I also have an extra USA crank and button. My question is, what is hand modified on the crank from RB to make it USA specific?

The crank is modified where the opening is for the fuel to enter from the carb, that hole is opened WAY more than a stock C6. It is actually opened up a lot like an onroad crank. The turbo cuts on the face of the crank are also opened up some. The crank also has a tungsten weight in it and the crank pin is hard coated.

Between the crank and that button you have you can do like I am doing and making a B10 USA for truggy :sneaky:

RoosterXp 04-22-2010 08:51 AM

What pipe have you guys found for best runtime and decent power with a C6T? i also run a JP3 and 30% on in it now and it seems to run decent..

Ahh yes I will test it out for sure, I currently run Byrons and I like the fuel but it does leave a lot of build up in the engine. I know when I ran nitrotane (Also made by VP) my engines always looked great when I pulled them apart.

I hope Tillman is checking in with Randy a lot about racing up here this weekend. The race has already been pushed back to Sunday because of weather and with the forecast it could possibly be a lake by Sunday.

The best fuel economy I have had was running the 192 header and 2045 pipe. I tried a few of the JP pipes and never had very good luck with them, I think all I ever tried was a JP1 and a JP2 tho.

What the difference between the Sport 10, Junior 9, and the Nova N21R?

I will second that about the JP pipes!

The Junior 9 is a 3 port square stroke motor that is Nova based.

Sport 10 is a 3 port motor that is made in Taiwan that is based on the K9/K10

The Nova N21R is very similar to the Junior 9, they have the same bore and stroke and are both 3 port engines with standard plugs. I am pretty sure Nova has a new 3 port out (P3??) that is now a long stroke motor.

If those were your choices of what u are going to buy go with the Junior 9.
I personally own one and just broke in and race tuned one for a friend. For the money it is the best engine you can get IMO. Put a 2045 pipe and either a 192mm or 198mm header and you will be :)

Any tuning tips for a C6 , running ODO97T

As long as the engine is fully broken a good race tune usually has the LSN very close to flush with the HSN also very close to flush. Depending on the header and pipe you use the HSN may end up in from flush.

Dynamite pipe

Hi All,

Have anyone tried the Dynamite Platinum 053 Midrange Inline exhaust system on the C5 or C6? Hows the performance and mileage? Thanks

It will run pretty good on that pipe but the fuel mileage isn't going to be very good. If you want the best possible fuel economy for that engine you should go with the 2045 pipe. I have heard the Nova 9901 pipe works great too but have not tried it myself.

razzie 04-27-2010 07:26 PM

Hi Chris,

Im using the RB2045 pipe and 192 header now, but the mileage doesnt seem to be that good on a tight and technical track. Im getting 7.5mins only.

I also didn't have good luck with the 2045 pipe but I was running it on the K9.I like the RE10 pipe good power and get about 9:30 to 10:00 min on a tank. With the 2045 my temps went up 20 deg and got less mileage.

razzie 04-27-2010 08:44 PM

I find that the 2045 doesnt have the punch at low to midrange as well for a very tight track..Any other views on the Dynamite 053..?

any one know the part number for the head button for the shark or where they are for sale thanks
