any ideas? Is the engine new? Have you had the carb out of the engine? To me it sounds like that oring in the case at the base of the carb is either swelled up or not in the groove correctly. |
I remove the carburator to set it correctly, after a gallon i check the engine and discover this.
i use to re place the carburetor but this is going up again, the o-ring in the base of the carburetor not fix the crankcase. |

pour a little fuel on the o-ring as your installing the carb, or you could try WD40 on the carb o-ring or a splash of oil, anything to let the carb slide down all the way, also, make sure the pinch bolt is not to tight befor you try sliding the carb into the case, and check for the pinch bolt inserts to see if they have turned inside the case, what I do, is remove the pinch bolt completely, with the inserts, install the carb, then the inserts so they beveled side is facing the carb base, then install the pinch bolt, then you can see all is straight, with your thumb, push down on the top of the carb, before you tighten every thing up.

can someone here share some light on the dimensions of the
RB BXR rear bearing - part no 01150-14.5C RB BXR front bearing - part no 01151-72 dimension (in mm) I have a hudy rear bearing puller, what size collet would be suitable for the rear bearing? Thanks |
I am looking for a P/S/R for a fire 11 in the states. Got any suggestions where to look?

Thanks BXR Front: 7x19x6.3 I have the older GRP engine tooling kit and the puller that works for the standard 14mm bearings also works on these 14.5mm bearings. If the Hudy comes with a 14.5 then use that one, otherwise the 14 should work. |
thanks chris for the valued information.
Does anyone here have any idea what shims should I be using when I am on 30% nitro. I am using the rb v3 turbo 6 plugs and my engine cuts constantly. She idles fine, takes off fine, low end is not too lean, high as usual for a RB is never ending. No dust or sand has gone into the engine. Done about 3/4 gallon. Whenever I came in for fuel (without constantly pumping the throttle), 8-10 times when i throttle after refueling, she flames out!!! ambient temp is about 86 to 93 F. Engine temp is about 230 -240 F. Pressure line is 8 inch. Using the 2097 pipe. I would think shortening the pressure line inch by inch would be heading in the right direction. Any ball park pressure line length for the BXR? What kinda temps are the BXR user seeing for a race tune setup? thanking you guys/gals for your forth coming replies. |

While it feels like it may be plenty fast you are still rich on your LSN if it is flaming out when your getting fuel. Also move to a #5 plug instead of a #6. The 6 will work good but to get it running really good your tune will have to be almost perfect. With the 5 you will be able to run even slightly rich without it flaming out as easy. If you can't find the RB 5 plugs you can also use the Nova C5TCG. Also since you say it's very fast on the top end it's possible you are too lean on top to make up for it being rich on the bottom. Start with the hotter plug and then re-tune the LSN to make the engine as crisp as possible and you should no longer have any pit stop flame outs. |
Hi guys, just bought a truggy which came with a Fire 11 RB engine which has been run in and one meeting it came with a 2087 pipe. Haven't had one before what am I in for? Good engine/pipe?
Thanks http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ine-Turbo-Plug |

That pipe works pretty well with that engine. I say drive it and if you like the power then stick with it. The RB pipes normally don't make the most overall power but they make the engines linear rather than like an on off switch. They also get pretty good mileage in most conditions. If you feel you need more power you can always try to borrow a 2013 or 2058 to test out if someone has a loaner. Both of those pipes will make more power but will use more fuel as well.
