The 2058 works awesome on the Nova based RB's. If you ask around in the OFNA JL thread or maybe the Clockworks thread they may have a good answer for you as I know Neal used to work on the JL engine a lot and that is essentially the same engine as the K10. If you already have the pipe I would say just give it a try on your own because what works great for some people is horrible for others.

Carb insert
Hi chris ive just got the new rb oval carb inserts and im going to try them out this weekend at my local club meeting.Ive goy a B11 and im going to insall the 6.5mm insert but im unsure witch way i should install it.Any advice would be great thankyou.

When you install the oval insert you want the oval shape to be from side to side of the carb. You want the numbers on the restrictor to be facing the front or back of the engine. Once it's in there open and close your throttle slide a few times to make sure it's lined up real well, at full throttle you will notice the carb slide and the venturi have the same ) shape and they line up at full throttle.
Also be sure to clean any oil off the venturi and out of the carb so that the venturi does not rotate when you install the air filter. At first I was worried that the venturi might twist and be misaligned in the carb and cause tune issues. Well I tried twisting it on purpose and to be crooked in the carb and the engine still seemed to run just fine so I have kept them in. |
Cheers chris thats just the info i was after thankyou very much.Hopefully i will be able to get the 10mins+ run time that im after will let ya know how i get on thanks again.

With the B11 in a Losi car I was able to do 10 minute pits at every track I raced at this year, and I always ran the 7mm oval in car and the 7.5 oval in truck. My best mileage came with the 2087 pipe that comes in the B11 combo. As far as power, the Orion 2058 pipe makes the B11 a rocket and I only lost between 15-30 seconds of runtime. |

Just got a pinch on a Hobby 9, And the con rod needs replaced. Any idea if there are compatible con rods from other manufacturer?

I don't know of any other companys rod that works. Nova rods are close but the crankpins are not the same size between RB and Nova so the rod will be slightly different. The Hobby9 uses the same rod that the newer RB's have. It may have been updated slightly over the years but 1122-c is what you want. I suggest replacing the wrist pin as well as the wrist pin clips while you are at it. |
I am selling my K10, if anyone is interested here is the link

How would the 2087 combo pipe compare to a 2058 on an RB Fire 11?
Also, does anybody have a theory why RB is throwing these F11's out so cheaply everywhere? I mean, I had a shop email me and offer a cheaper price than what he had listed on e-bay..(I had asked which pipe was in the combo..) Are they just trying to win back market share from all the Asians and Werks and other numerous companies that have taken over in the last few years?.. There are deals for these F11's all over the place. Including a very, VERY tempting one for an RC8.2 + F11 Combo that I absolutely shouldn't touch but can't stop thinking about ha ha.... |
I think it may be some kind of great global conspiracy to
get you to finally put a decent engine into your arsenal of nitro engines. Cough up the money and buy one. Break it in, run the h&ll out of it and be happy. Leave all of the drama about buying a new engine to your Facebook page. Something else to unravel you nerves is the fact that there will be a whole new batch of 2012 engines, from all of the engine manufactures, released in a few months. Now, just what does that do for your hidden anxiety disorder. |

Not phased..
I'm actually more inclined to get another LRP Spec 3 for my basher RC's just now, because organized racing is just too time-consuming. Since you obviously take such a passionate interest in my taste in and collection of engines.. |

Anyone been brave enough to run the F11 in a buggy? Is it just too much power? Been thinking about a new engine for my buggy and this is priced incredibly well, just unsure on how it would go for a buggy. |
