Frank, we put in and took out TWO NIP tanks in a buddy's RC8 at a race in Nov. Finally grabbed an Xray tanks and the issues went away. Your call LOL.

Zixxer, it's amazing how cool the temps are on the Extech if you shoot the head. You've been told since you started in RC not to tune to temp and these engines prove it. I assume the head does a great job cooling, and if you shot a crankcase temp it would be higher, but I forgot to test that theory last time I raced.

My Extech II FM was running between 160 and 185 yesterday with the Bigboy and #5 plug. Only around 750cc throughit so far. Great power and has been easy to dial in so far. Runtimes were less than spectacular though I am hoping they go up once I get some more fuel through it.

is the xray 808 tank a direct fit on the rc8? any mods necessary?

Im after changing from my OS speed motors to these Trinity EX-TECH's but i have a few questions you could answer.
Firstly pipewise is the 2013 ive read about the Sirio pipe ? Or do trinity do one to suit ? Not sure if this pipe will be the best for me as i have a few things that are important in exhaust choice. 1. it must be EFRA homologated. 2. It must be efficient enough to return me 10 minute runtimes. 3. obviously performance is important too.
Secondly im in the UK where there is no importer, do i buy the motors from Amain hobbies or can i buy them directly from trinity for the same prices which i would prefer ? If i do have some problems (which i doubt) can i send them back across the pond ?
Also how will the trinity motors compare to my current OS's i take it they run to the power of the likes of a sirio kanai, CL7B etc.
Any feedback appreciated.

Doing a submerged pressure test like that will find an external leak, but not an internal problem. If you have a leak in the internal pickup tube (usualy either a crack in the tube, or a leak where the tube meets the stone filter) then it will start drawing air once the fuel level reaches the point of the leak.

If the top of the stone filter is even slightly uncovered at that point (and there are no leaks, internal or external) then that is indeed the 'empty level' for that tank design. Put the car on a level surface (with the fuel level at the point shown in your pic) and look through the filler opening at the stone.

1) pipe - I only run the 2056 anymore, in truggy and buggy. I feel it gives me the best feel, runtime and power of any other pipe out there. Does it make the most HP.. no.. but im not looking for just HP.. Im looking for the whole package.. and the 2056 does that for me..

4) I havent run a os or kanai in a long time.. From talking with Randy and Colby Poh who lives in CA.. They say our engine runs cooler and longer than the Kanai's they have seen. I dont know how the .24 compares to the CLB.. I do know our .24 is a beast and love it in Truggy. You get the same run time as a .21 but more power than a .21...

Chad, do you have a # for total thickness of the head shims on the RP .21s?
I am having tuning problems, blowing plugs, and want to be sure I put the correct amount in. Most likely it's my inexperience tuning in colder/winter temps or maybe even the P3s, as other racers have suggested to me, but either way, I just want to be sure I'm in the right boat. Thx :)

Chad: I'm fixing to order a Extech .24 for my losi truggy and just read that you like the 2056 the best. Is that the extech pipe you are referring to? I want the engine to have power but be as smooth as possible without that sudden hit on bottom like so many larger than .21's give.

Jason - some guys like #5, some like P4... I cant remember what i ran at Bad RC.. I think it was a #5.. guess I should have written it down.. though now, I run a p4. The guys who like the #5 are in hot dry conditions (Arizona)

would it be hard to turn my rc8 tank into a clunker like a losi? if i drilled a hole slightly smaller than the fuel tubing where the metal pickup nipple is?

just gor off the phone woth AE and the guy told me he has never heard of that problem with AE tanks. LOL thats all I have read about from day one, tanks breaking, tanks leaking, and pick up problems. LOL

Frank, call em back sometime and ask to speak to Don. He is the one, from other forums I have read, that has been taking care of people. The "King" even suggests talking to Don. Can't get a better reference than that :)

the xray tank fits if you loosen the screws on the fuel tank post first then put the tank in install the retaining clips then tighten the post back and then you have to trim the body:nod:
