I finally got a good base tune for this cold weather and haven't had to adjust it more than an hour one way or the other the last few races, usually the lsn. Got a gallon on it so far and still just crazy fast. It's a little wet around the carb, I haven't tried the Lucky 7 sealer yet. I'm using the 2056 pipe and P4 plug, runtime is well over 10 min. Very satisfied so far.

I had to seal the carb where it enters into the case, the whole bolt and pin that holds the carb in, my carb boot was leaking so i zip tied it on, and now my front bearing is starting to leak a little. I have almost two gallons still have a good pinch and its still very fast. Just wish there werent so many leaks LOL.

One of our locals has one of these engines.....Luis ferrer. Wow that thing is FAST.

Chad Phillips 11-25-2008 08:44 AM

frank - remove the carb boot, spray it off with motorspray and the groove it rides in on the carb itself.. that will stop that leak..

franklucas 11-25-2008 08:51 AM

thanks chad

It's the combo of speed, power, and mileage that really sets it apart. Skidmore told me this weekend he thought you needed to be able to do at least 8 minutes, and the Extech does that easily. We went from 50 deg and dry to 70+ deg and humid for Sunday and mine was a little fat for the main. I ran a little over 8 minutes after my last pit and still had probably 25 cc left in the tank. If you get a chance to lay hands on one, do it.

KyJoe340 11-27-2008 12:51 AM

At 1.5 gallons my Ex-tech doesn't have a tight pinch like it did when it was new. It has good compression, and of course it runs great, idles great and has tons of power. Just wondering if this was normal?

Chad Phillips 11-27-2008 06:31 AM

yes.. that means its fully broken in..

cjtamu 12-04-2008 06:15 AM

Chad, I assume the carb has gotten to you by now. LMK if you see anything FUBAR'd, but I think I just put a burr on it when the set screw started moving the radio tray, LOL.

Chad Phillips 12-04-2008 08:06 AM

shipping back to you today! :)

cjtamu 12-04-2008 09:21 AM

Awesome, thank you sir. That's what I call customer service fellas. Because the carb issue was in no way related to a product defect, but was 100% the result of my being a dumbazz and not paying attention, LOL.
