The 086 is truly scary on top! I can pull ANYBODY on the straight. But is also has such a nice smooth powerband.
Chad, when is a good time to call? I need some assistance. |

Thanks Colin. With my semi-skilled hands and the 013 pipe in my 8ightB I should be doing donuts in the straight in no time, LOL. Should be here today, I'll let you know. Which 086 pipe, seems like most were running the Dynamite?
The Dynamite 086 is the pipe I and many others liked on that engine. It is a great pipe, very tough and priced right as well :) |

Teufel - We will be releasing a new pipe "2056" I have been testing it and at hobby hut, driving as hard as I can, I get between 11-12 minutes of runtime.. the pipe is ugly but works the best of any pipe i have tried to date.
If you want to see what one looks like.. A-main has it on there site. Holy Crap! That is one butt-ugly pipe!!! It's got that shiney-baseball-bat look. But if it works as good as you say it does... http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ducts_id/23179 The Dynamite 053's been my pipe of choice (better looking too LOL). Not getting the runtime that you are with that 2056 uggo-special though... |
Damn. That pipe better work well 'cause it looks like something you'd find in a fat girl's bedroom.
Colin, engine and pipe look great. Thanks for the quick shipping, left you positive feedback here. Can't wait to try it out. Of course it's a weekend where I'm teaching 2 group lessons Sat morning and coaching team tennis in the afternoon and can't race. Ain't that just the way it goes? |
Hahahaha!! Thats always the way Chris!!!

And not only that, it started raining here at 5:00 so I can't even test it in the street! Nothing sucks worse than having new toys you can't play with.

Thayer you looking for a Dynamite 086 hardcoated pipe? If so let me know I have one that I am going to sell. Let you have it for $25. I am going to the River Track this weekend (haha) and plan on trying to sell it there if you don't want it.

Wow, finally got to put the Race Prepped Extech I got from Colin into my 8ight. Even at 85% or so of race tune it rips. Thanks Colin, can't wait to hit the track with it.

thanks for the pipe info,
Went out and did some testing and found the 053 and 086 pipes I have will work for now. I did like the pipe Chad mentioned, though one of the most odd looking ones I have seen. Then again if it works, it works. Might have to look at getting that one. The 053 in the truggy today faired pretty well, running pretty hard all tank and came in at 11:35 on the tank with a flame out temp at 220. Now all I have to do is wait for next March for the Silver State race. |
Thanks for your help chad

The Extech Is one sweet motor . But it let me down this week end. I was coming off a double. The buggy landed on all 4 wheels and the head fell of the motor. I like too Know where I can get a new head for the motor.
http://c1.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/i...0edcdcc34c.jpg http://c2.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/i...cbe24130b1.jpg Ouch... Did you hit it hard in the past? A couple of hard lid landings coulda cracked things beforehand. Vibration, and finaly your landing off that last double would have finished it off. doesn't look like there's a lot of meat there in the center to hold things together. I second the warrantee claim thought... |
Call Trinity and ask to talk to Chad and he will take care of you!

I bought the ExTech .21 pre-run today and the 2056 (baseball bat) pipe for my MBX6. Anybody try this pipe other than Chad yet.
|
Colby Poh has tried the 2056 at rev.. it has the same feel as a 2053 but more topend and more runtime. The powerband is very broad with the 2056.
|
I have the Sirio 2056, which I suspect is basically the same. I plan to try it soon, depending on when I get my E.T back. Hurry up Chad...not much of the season left n Im jonsin to get what time I can in :P...Thx :)
I will post up my impressions on the pipe once I have the chance. |

Chad i bought 2 of the fully modded Ex-Tech 21's .. the one in my buggy runs great. however i put the second one in a truggy and it broke a con-rod on its 2nd race day... if never over-reved or went WOT out of control.. it just broke in warm up at the Reedy race.. Is there anything that can be done?? i bought them about a 2 or so months ago and never really got to run teh one that broke...

nitro - i am lol :)
kthatcher - send it back  |
Well fook. I had the LHS order Trinity #5 turbo plugs for me last week, they told me today they're back ordered. Same at A-main. Looks like Trinity may have them in stock, but the 2 weeks they want me to allow for delivery puts me right on the race I need them for. Anybody know where else I can get them? Barring that, which O'd plug is comparable to the #5? Trinity website says the OD97T is comparable to the #6. LHS has a bunch of O'd plugs, just don't know which would be closest.
|
were calling it the "HOMER' lol the pipe is dialed been running it for couple weeks now ,went from GRP pipe n header to the HOMER and extech header and didnt tune much just had to richen up top,, the homer pulls n pulls but the bottom i didnt have to touch it was perfect, you guys will like it and it gives ya something to joke about when some one sees it and is like WTF with a stund look on their face lol does it work and my awnser is yes it works very well i am running the sidewinder race here at thunder alley raceway and had 10 minute practice sessions and didnt need to pit during the practice went 10 everytime out but i will let you guys know how it is come race time ....have fun guys
|
If you can't find any #5 ExTech plugs, I would go with the OS P4 turbo plug.
|
I ran the ExTech .21 pre-run with 2056 pipe for the first time. Runs great, broad powerband from top to bottom. Couldn't get the temp above 180's with a P4 plug, the outside temp was around 48 degrees. It had so much power and a good idle I didn't want to lean it any more. Also, it seemed a little oily around the base of the carb which attracted dirt. Does anyone do something to seal the carb up, I've read of some using a small amount of silicone sealer at the carb base. I figured if it really needed that EB would have done it.

Ran the North Carolina state championships on Saturday at W.C.R.C. Qualified 3rd and finished 5th with the X-tech. You couldn't pass us on their monster straight. I also had the fastest lap of the day in qual's. Still loving the X-tech!!!!
|
Anyone using an O.S. P3 plug. Temps are getting in the 40's in my area, I'm thinking of trying a P3 if it's not too hot. The P4 runs good but it's hard to get the temp up.
Congrats, cdbias. |
I use but a p3 for allround purpose
engine is very stable with it this engine doesn't get hot at all |
So is it O.K. to run in the 170's? I just can't get any more heat out of it. I was thinking about wrapping the head with something to lessen the cooling effect, hopefully getting the temp up to 200. Other than that it runs great, has tons of power and a good idle.
