chambers - i have sent a couple orders of engines to Amain early this week.. they should have them back instock early next week...
I finaly got a decent pipe on my .24 pre run. Running an 086 with the short V header with a p4 plug. It's about 50 degrees outside and it ran for about 10.5 minutes @ 185 degrees. I assume that is hot enough on the inside to burn up the oil??? That motor is insane. It revved up so quick and smooth... it scarred me like it might pop from the r's! I can only imagine what the full mod would be like! So far I only have about 6 or 7 tanks in it. I got a big race next week to give it the test! I am sure it will pass. |

http://www.modhobby.com/catalog/detail/TRI40112 im gonna use an odonell 97t ...others have said an os p4 work great as well |
Yup,
The O.S. P4 works very well. In a pinch I have gotten a P3, Rossi 5 and 6 to work. Tried the 97T and didn't really like it so much, might work for you. |

last year i ran the jp 4 and was told buy a guy who dyno'd these pipes on the engine that they are terrible for this engine. he told me to run the 2013 or if i was cheap the dynamite 086, but this was before the new trinity pipe came out so that is what i run now.
|
thank you i will try one of the extech pipes
|
Chad
Still waiting for the tracking # that you were supposed to email me... Rico A. Mendoza |

ok let me rephrase my question what are average run times and performance differences between the two.is the extech .21 strong enough on bottom for a truggy is the .24 still a little much for an inexperinced driver just wanting solid opinions from those that have these engines before i spend my hard earned money again thank you

I ran a P4 plug, 1.0 springs with a 14 tooth in my X2 with the 086 with the V Header. Temp was 45 to 55 over the day, I ran it about `1/4 turn rich on the bottom from pre-run settings.. All I can say is Friggin A once I got the bottom tuned in ... which was real easy,,,this thing Ripped hard and the Top end was insanely fast. Plenty of bottom when I neeeded it. Pull it off and it purred like a kitten! A little trick I did to get temps up was to put 2 -1/10 scale pANTHER tire gluing bands on the top off the head! Worked Great I was catching and making up ground on my C6 buddies like they had an old OS RG ,21 motor! |
Zixxer,
I just didn't like the way the 97T plug ran for me, plus I a bunch more to choose from that ended up being better. The 97T says its a medium plug, but for me it didn't act like a medium, more like a hot plug. It could have been just me that day. I tried a bunch of different plugs, one because I had some already and two, because maybe I could get one running well enough for me even though many said it didn't run well in their motors. What I have come to know is that the the Ex-Tech #5's and P4's work the best for me. In a pinch I can get by with a P3, maybe more so if the weather is cold. Rossi #5's worked, but didn't seem to last me that long and the #6's were just way too cold. That is unless the outside temp was above 90 to 95 (in low humidity were I am at). Just what worked for me. So far both of my mills have been trouble free tuning wise and just run. Fast. Makes the race day that much more fun when you don't have to keep chasing the tune. Granted the tune is not always at the best for a given day, but close enough not to have to mess with it. I ran almost the whole season at the "Fat" settings on the carbs. Leaned it them out to the "Tuned" settings towards the end. Didn't think the motors could get any better, but they did. |
LOL. I told you you'd like it Chambers. Wish I could have made it this weekend. You coming to H'town for RC Pro next month? I want to see the .24 run.

trinity extech 24
anyone got any video of one running?? trying to decide b/w the pre run and the full mod for my rc8t. also, where can you get the bat pipe? I don't care what it looks like as long as it works. I'm looking for smooth strong controllable power with good run time (10 min+ tanks in med size track). I normally run rb c6 and ws7III's.

Strong possibility! You coming up next weekend to N-Control for the Texas Twister benfit race? I think it was the biggest race of the year last year in Texas! |

Hey chad were you able to get my package out this week? Just wondering when to start looking for it, do you have a tracking number? thanks Frank:)

I just wanted to comment on the great product support that Chad and Trinity have gave me with my ExTech .21. A page or two back I posted having a problem with erratic tuning and some leaking issues around the carb. It turns out my carb had a small flaw around the base where the carb boot seats. Chad sent me a new carb and the problem is fixed. The motor tunes and runs perfectly. Thanks
