Default Byron 25%/9% fuel

These motors have a reasonably low compression ratio compared to some others to start with, so you will be losing a lot of power and punch - especially running like this in conjunction with using 25% fuel.

If you want peak performance with reliability and a reasonable tuning window - run the stock factory .5mm shim stack, and run 30% fuel.
These motors love the higher nitro percentage, as it effectively raises the compression ratio, and they really perform.
The .5mm factory shimming is suitable for up to 30% fuel - you don't need to change anything (just get rid of that extra break-in shim).
I took off the .2 shim n run 25%/9% byron. My udp 4port n 5port go become beast. The idle n tuning become better. Drastic temperature drop n crazy power. Will the fuel give enuff protection for engine, is it suitable to use for break in?

Glad it's working for you

Byrons 25/9 is a good fuel. Fine for run-in, as your running a little rich anyway.
If your not happy, get some Byrons 25/11 and use that for run-in only.

If you want even more performance, just move up to Byrons 30/9. The Taiwanese engines do like the 30%.

I got some of the Cera engines in, I believe these never made production but very nice. I have them listed on my site.

Just picked up a GXII plus. Took pics of the internals compared to my original GXII. The biggest thing I noticed was intake port is much larger on sleeve on newer motor. I will post picks later.

have you done any testing? I would, seeing as how these hit the market, and a few made it overseas, then they were pulled...

They were pulled for marketing reasons not because they didn't work out. Maybe Arrow distributors complained, I have no idea why they pulled it. They have been making the Arrow for quite a while so I know it will run well.

Have about half gallon thru my gxii plus. Taking it okay the track today to see how she does on the dirt. Engine is still tight, so I am sure it will be another 1/4 gallon until it fully breaks in. Just have to learn the tuning techniques with long low speed needle. I ave an original gxii gho with 3 needle carb. I will try the 2 needle carb first to give it a shot. Did run a few tanks in the street to get a basic tune on the engine. I live at 3500 feet. Will be heading to THUNDER ALLLEY close to sea level so I am sure I will need to richer the needles a hair.

I am not a fan of how the new Nova carbs tune. I do like the 3 needle Go/Arrow/Cera carb, with the needle settings like posted above they run very well.
