This is one reason I quit stocking the Go engines, guys that dont even have a Tax Id # advertising stuff under Map price. That and all the Go parts and motors on Ebay almost at dealer cost.

whoa whoa......im only helping people out....i always clearly state that Nitro-North is the place to get motors and parts....i dont sell anything on ebay...infact ive only sold maybe 10 motors....not trying to be a salesman just trying to help ANYBODY who wants a GO motor...cause theres alot of Go haters...just trying to help racers get these motors in there hands;)....why does this always bother you?:weird:...i have heard nothing but great things about you and your modding:nod:...but for some reason you have some personal vendetta against me:weird:...im sorry for whatever it is i have done...:tire: oh and i wasnt advertising anything....just trying to help....i thought thats what the prices were at moment...my bad

Yes, that would make it hard to do business with prices like that.
Also in my opinion it "cheapens" the product somewhat. I reckon you guys need to get together and have a united front, with the same prices across the board.
People see motors going really cheap and think - geez, if he is selling it for that, what must he be paying for it. And the next thought for most people is, wow, if he is only paying X for it then it must be cheap cr-p. Not the sort of impression you want to be making for your product.
Most people think that if a product is a little more expensive then it is better. That is just the way the consumer thinks. Make it too cheap and those not in the know will just write it off as junk.
I don't know your market in the US, so I could be completely wrong, but I reckon from what I have heard on here and how these motors perform, you might be underselling them a little.
There is a fine line between being competitive in the market place and selling your product short. Food for thought

i was off by $10:lol: my bad...but that is the US MAP...i have been trying to get these motors in as many Local Hobby Shops as possible..doing my thing trying to spread the word on these GREAT motors...:D....but for some reason i keep getting bagged on for it

grizz1 12-27-2010 07:06 PM

Hey Rob, no problem. If that's the MAP (same as our RRP - recommended retail price I guess ?) then cool. Like I said I don't know your market over there, but was just making a casual observation. If that's the price that Trey wants to sell at then he must have a reason for it. He would buy a lot more motors than me, so is probably getting a good price break (lucky bugger). Just seems you guys are struggling to get a hold on the market ?
It's all good  I will pull my head back in and mind my own business :D

Pretty quite right now over Xmas.
We start club racing again late January. Got my club champs and our North Island Champs in March, which is at the end of our summer here, with Autumn starting early May.
I have been flat out (a bit like Trey) organinsing for the upcoming release of the GXII-5RHO motor. Sold quite a few already on pre release orders sight unseen. Not allowed to release any pics etc yet, so avid GO users are buying these new motors going on the great results we had here last year with the GX Series. I reckon the new motor is going to be a ripper, and we will in for another good year on the tracks here.

what are they going for in your region? we don't have a pre release sale.I wanted to get a web site going like you did, but never heard back from trey. But you know me, I'll find one at a great price from some one. actually I can hardly wait to here from racer 22 to see what he wants to do with the engines I sent him.

I did say I wasn't stocking any Go motors, I will take preorders on the GxII as soon as we get details.(pm me) I think Trey was looking at around $240.00 map if I remember correctly?

And to think that (to use your words) you thought it was "funny that I got all werked up" about some one "borrowing" our B5 model name and here you are getting your panties all in a bunch about only being undercut by a couple bucks on an engine or two lol.

That's a ballpark figure, yes. I havent gotten the pricing on my end finalized set in stone- just an approximate cost. Once I have that I'll be able to announce official US pricing. I'll then write the check (or wire transfer) for the order and get things underway. However, we are shooting for the mid-200s.

Also, I just placed a very small (10 unit) order for GX-7Rs w/ the 2072 pipe. This will probably be our last order for GXs, as we have a few in stock.

One last thing: I just sent the first of six press releases for factory team drivers, to the news outlets. I've got contracts in, and just now waiting on pictures. We are taking 6-7 factory sponsored drivers to the nats this year, plus a few partials.
