No mention of Mr Wang taking over the defunct GO-Tech company and producing race engines. How is that the same company ??? I don't know the streets very well there but it is outdoor, they have on drivers stand and on one side of it is the 1/8 track and on the other side is a new 1/10 track that gets used mostly for shortbus. http://www.sweetwaterrc.com/ |
Stop being so defensive. Im not saying your wrong. Im saying thateverything ACCEPT what your saying points that they share something. No need to tell me to" try it" as if im bashing the product as I just started breaking in my new preciritate that's OEM by go. Just trying to learn some back round and hunting facts. Don't be so sensative :)[/B]

Mate, I never suggested you were basing anything on rumours. I'm just trying (unsuccessfully it would appear) to answer your questions. GO was formed in 2005, that's nearly 6 years ago, which gives you roughly one generation of progress per year. Hence 2011 (the 6th year of the company) will see the GXII Gen 6 motor. I reckon that's pretty straight forward - yes ??
People are calling them GO-Techs simply because they have it wrong. Anyway, I'm done on this topic. I am getting tired of repeating myself over and over. They are a good motor, give one a try, you won't be disapointed. |
Man I'm under for a few days and the fit hits the shan.
USA Guys- enough. This is your only warning. Personal attacks, name calling, and public emotional outbursts will not be tolerated whatsoever. This goes for anyone affiliated with Go Engine USA with no exceptions. This venture represents a significant investment in both time and money, and thus I will not tolerate this sort of bickering. mb4545- your motor went out yesterday. Per the PM I sent you, I would have gotten it out last week, but I was in the hospital and bedridden until yesterday. My apologies for the delay, but I did post an announcement on here. |
Al, I seem to remember the first several generations of GO motors (post 2005) to be called GO-Tech and I am pretty sure that is the name Race Factor used for the manufacturer here in the states I am not sure if it was just a name mix up or what on his part. In all reality does it even matter? The reason GO had a bad name in the states was due to issues with the distributor (Race Factor) and some flaws with material strength. Oh and lets not forget the carb issues. I had my fair share of issues with all of them. All of which have since been fixed in a major way. Now then I have been doing some research over the last few months on the GO factory and have come to realize they do in fact produce motor parts for several other motor companies. Does that make them GO motors? No it does not. Those motors are built to that company's specs in the same factory that builds GO motors. Some things will be the same on all of those motors because it is very expensive to develop produce molds for the harder metals. That is why if you look at most of the Taiwan motors things like rods will be same through all of those lines. Cast molds on the other hand are cheap to produce hence the fact that most the heads and cases are different. The main differences will be timing on the sleeve. Anyway enough ranting. Your Preciprocate motor is built in the same factory that makes the GO GX line of engines and the previous Pro Series of motors and shares some parts from each of those lines. Most importantly it has the same carb and rod seen in the GX line. It has the uncoated crank from the Pro Series line, the same molded case from both lines and the head design shared by the JS line. Somebody correct me if im wrong but I am pretty sure im not. :sneaky:

BTW in case I wasnt clear in my post, I think the current lines of engines from that factory are on par with anything produced by the other manufacturers throughout the world from a quality standpoint. With guys like Simon and mark doing the development (some credit should go to Ed Bridges as well for his contributions to the GX line) how can things not continue to keep getting better.
P.S. Al, next time I am in Watson I would be interested in checking out your motor and doing some side by side comparison to see how Preciprotate is changing things with their mods once it gets in their hands. |

Anyways, you're right about go making OEM engines for other companies. Yes, go makes engines and parts for other companies. You'd be surprised as to who's parts go in what... especially you purists out there. Anyways, the only engines that Go makes and puts their name on them are the actual Go GX and sport line, and the Massive Mods motors. If you look at the head on the MM motors, I believe they still have the go logo on them. also, the GX line and the MG66 line are very close, esp with the MG66x head. The main difference being a modded 6 port sleeve, modded crank and different labeling. They both share the "R21" case and carb. Obviously Mark and Simon collaborated on the design of the gen 5.5 stuff. Gen 6. This is an all-new design, due out shortly and will be called tge GXII. I'm hoping to get final prototypes for the 2011 team guys next week or the week after. You guys have no idea how excited I am at the final design. It's been over a year coming, and I've had a lot of input on the new motor- things like the new carb, crank design, and little stuff like the font on the heatsink. You'll really dig the new head design. More efficient, and it's just so darn purdy. Simon showed me what we're doing with the port design, and was really blown away. The only questions right now are whethe it'll be a 5 port and a 7 port, or just a 5 port, and of course price. Rest assured, It'll be affordable- esp for this class of engine WHOLESALERS!!! I've been talking to a few wholesalers (both large and small) about distribution. If you're a wholesaler and are interested, shoot me an email at the sales address in my sig. I've setup a pricing structure with price breaks at 25, 50, and 100 units for both parts and engines. Bottom line, we're looking to move some product in 2011. |
Hmmmmmmmm, so Massivemods is part of Go Engine which started in 2005 right??
And Massivemods himself said that Go Tech and Go Engines are 2 separate companies not associated in any way?? I only ask because Massivemods is the one that started this thread and HE is the one that named it the "Official Go-Tech Engines Thread" and this was in 2007 which is 2 years after GO Engines started. You guys jump all over peoples case for using the term Go Tech when there is nothing clear that states the two companies are not associated. Maybe you guys should step back and see what people from the outside see before you jump all over someones case and lose yourselves a sale. |

Im assuming everyone is getting very defensive about my questions cause you assume im doubting the quality? That 1000000% wrong. When I was shopping I was talking to deadman about getting a go. But went with the PR instead. Being as my engine is built in a go factory I was hoping any positive and negative testing, specs, tricks, tips would bleed down to my PR as well. I was asking grizz fir facts cause I can garantee when I tell a local guy my PR is built at a go factory they will assume its" a junk go tech".. and I would like hard facts to argue with them. If you plan any trips to LA or flowood in MS let me know. Id be happy to compare and learn as much as I can about any go built product.

hopefully I cleared things up. If you have some specific questions about your PR or Go in general, please feel free to post them. If people get their panties in a bunch, or if you get harassed pls feel free to take it up with me or "puddin" (team manager) on here. You can also reach both of us at the "team" email address below.
