sounds positive for you guys in the US now for sure :)
i replace my rods after 3 gallons and break in period has been done usually put a full race tune on teh new rod that goes in not the one that has done the break in :) |
well after 2 gallons put the ceramics in the MG66..mmmmmm nice..had to turn the idle speed way down..says lower rolling resistance to me.very snappy response..I'll take it for a spin at the track over the weekend before the winter wet arrives here..I think i'll remove the xtra shim too..only small problem was one of the piston circlips has shed the tiny tag for removing it..the rest of the clip is still sat firmly in it's groove so I left it alone and just changed the rod and pin anyway..there is the slightest mark on the piston/sleeve but as it doesn't seem to be affecting performance or compression I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.....
LOOOOOOOOOVE THIS MOTOR! |
i've got 5 gallons on my 3port R and its only had a conrod and bearing swap, motor pulls like its brand new

No one told me that, the low and high speed needles interchange between the Nova and Go. The spray bar orfice is within .001" in size. I was also told the first Go was patterned off the P5 Nova.
Rex youll probably find a lot of parts are interchangable from .21 to .21 engine . Rods berings carbs heads , head buttons .. The original Go 5 port in 2005 was similar to the Nova 5 P but was still different to drive .. from gen 3 to gen 5.5 now are a completley different engine. Cheers MM |
im having problem with my 7 port engine flaming out, when i pull the brakes the engine dies,my idle gap clearance is ok,idling is very stable even if i pulled the brakes the engine doesnt flame out,but when its on the ground and try to do a speed run it always die when im braking. im also thinking if my clutch bearings could also be the cause why my engine stops when it brakes?

so did you end up fixing your problem at all ? |
whats the best pipe for the go 5port i just want to have some crazy torque,im using the dynamite 053 and not very pleased with it..
|
get hold of the Go Tech 2072 pipe best pipe on the market for any gotech engine crazy bottem mid and top
|
Yep - GO EFRA 2072 rules ;) The GO FEMCA 0801 is also hot on the 5 Port, as well as the Dynamite 086. Your 053 is very well suited to the 7 Port motor but not so much the 5 Port.

Hey Grizz, how did racing go yesterday?
I had a disaster with the gen4 7 port, dropped a pin clip and chewed up the p/s:cry:My fault,I didn`t replace them when I did the rod:blush: The 66 is sitting in the buggy already, now I need some weather to get her run-in:nod: |

All the GX motors (5 ports in truggy) were only a week or so old from the first shipment to come in, and only one had been anywhere near run in completely. After the practice day on Friday they other motors were up to speed and kicked arse. The GX 5 Port and 2072 in the truggy is a lethal combo. We had two MG66's running buggy and they were awesome too. Nothing could touch them down the straights, not OS Speed, not Nova - nothing. Some would say I am biased of course - but the eyes don't lie :) Not only their power though, they were very smooth and drivable. This was the first real test for the new motors here, in a 3 day event with a feild of 80+ cars and pretty much all of the top drivers in the country present. Both the GX Series motors and the Massive Mods MG66 motors performed admirably. They turned a few heads and I had lots of interested racers looking at the motors I had on display. Most of them scratching their chins and saying "Hmmm, very nice", then wandering off very thoughful. I would say the new motors have hit the spot. Will be pushing hard at the Nationals in a few weeks to get even more exposure. All the new motors will be fully bedded in by then, so I am expecting geat results for the GO team in that event. |
grixx1 mate sounds like ur lovin the MG66..slung the ceramics and new rod in mine earlier this week and took it down the track for a run today..also took out the aluminium run in shim they fit at the factory..had to richen it a fraction top and bottom as the higher compression pushed the temps to 140ºC and I prefer it at 120 ish where it was before..anyway tad richer and it's pulling like a train everywhere..just nuts.the ceramics make it spool up sooooooo quick..insane..love it!! but also tank times ,maybe a bit off full race pace but close enough, 12m47 12m49 and 12m57....Now I'm cooking..shame our season ends with the last race on oct 10th..BOOOOO!
